Congratulations to Jacqueline Easley for being named one of Becker's Health System Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officers to Know for 2024! Jacqueline Easley serves as the Division Director of Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at MercyOne. In her role, she leads the ideation and execution of health equity initiatives and language access services for the organization. Her dedication extends beyond MercyOne, as she is also an active member of several prestigious boards and committees, including the national diversity committee of the American Heart Association, the Central Iowa Workforce Investment Board, the Terrace Hill Commission, the Drake University Board of Trustees and the City of Des Moines Planning and Zoning Commission. Yesterday, St. Joseph's Health embarked on phase two of a cleanup initiative for its surrounding campus in James McGroarty Park*. Our efforts were directed towards enhancing the park's appeal by adding rocks* painted by visitors and colleagues to the rock garden, cleaning up the grass and adding a new tik-tak-toe feature for park visitors. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to this successful community cleanup. 🌍🌱 Be on the lookout for more exciting additions! *James McGroarty Park is dedicated to James H. McGroarty, Fire Investigator with Syracuse Fire Department, who passed away in the line of duty in 1999. *Rocks provided and painted in honor of Regan's Acts of Kindness.

Please join us in congratulating Rick Heaton, RN, on receiving St. Mary’s systemwide DAISY Award for nursing excellence. Rick provides care as part of the float pool at St. Mary’s Hospital, working in different units as needed. He was nominated by the loved one of an ICU patient who was greatly comforted by Rick as the patient neared the end of life.
