On this Veterans Day, we join our HCA Healthcare family in honoring the contributions and commitment of those who selflessly served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Each veteran makes a positive impact in our communities through their service in and outside of the hospital. HCA Healthcare is proud to have thousands of military colleagues, having hired more than 60,000 veterans, active duty personnel and military spouses since 2012. Today, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who have honorably served and their family members. Our military colleagues truly exemplify our mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. #HCAVeterans #VeteransDay

One of the responsibilities of a chaplain is to help patients process treatment choices while exploring patient and family fear, anxiety, or discouragement. Chaplains don’t seek to sway their decision but instead help them explore their own thoughts and feelings about the options available to them. Meet Tracey Christensen, a PRN chaplain at Timpanogos Regional Hospital. When asked why she serves as a chaplain, Tracey responded, “I have been in challenging times supporting loved ones medically and I want to help others feel comfort, peace or at least cared for emotionally and spiritually when they are at the hospital.” When not at the hospital, Tracey works on the charity that she and her husband founded that provides physical therapy for kids with disabilities. Thank you, Tracey, for the great work you do! #WeShowUp #ImproveMoreLives

🤔 Ever wondered what the hospital chaplains are like? ⭐ Meet Bradly Baird, the lead chaplain at Timpanogos Regional Hospital and one of the most warmhearted people you will ever meet. Bradly received an MBA from Westminster College and is currently in the Master of Divinity program at Central Seminary. Did you know? Chaplains can help with more than just spiritual needs. Bradly shows up for patients by offering compassionate support for those who have gone through trauma, advocating for their emotional needs, and connecting them to post-care community resources. Have a story about your experience with chaplains? Share it in the comments! #WeShowUp #ImproveMoreLives

This includes writing letters of encouragement to patients before treatments, calling to check on them, and becoming their friend. But her kindness doesn't stop there, she also runs a monthly breast cancer support group where survivors come together to learn and socialize.
