Our #climateweekny highlight was the #MusicIndustryClimateCollective (a.k.a. MICC) event featuring three powerhouse #ESG leaders from Sony Music Entertainment - Towalame Austin, Warner Music Group - Olga LaBelle, and Universal Music Group - Dylan Siegler! The event was hosted at Ethic's beautiful office space in Tribeca and brought together 90 sustainability professionals across the music industry with the shared goal of exploring how music can be a positive force for climate action. Three Squares Inc.'s Jaime Nack moderated the discussion with the three music majors which provided an update on MICC's #Scope3 methodology designed specifically to address the unique qualities of the music industry's value chain. The evening ended with inspiring exchanges of ideas and connections. The event was dubbed as the most 'fun' event of Climate Week NY by many and we will take that! Our resident DJ Marlon Regis brought the vibes, INDAY vegetarian bites were delicious, and the team at Ethic were amazing hosts. Three Squares Inc. and Agendi (shout out to Arnaud Brohe who attended) were thrilled to see the event take shape and the positive response from the music stakeholders. The TSI team is growing! Please join us in welcoming, Maya Becker! -- As Senior Sustainability Analyst at TSI, Maya Becker plays a key role in the development and implementation of clients’ ESG strategies, as well as in the firm’s ESG corporate reporting services. Her climate science background and technical communication, project management, and partner engagement skills allow her to design sustainability solutions that maximize climate action and client satisfaction. Becker earned a PhD in Oceanography from the University of California San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography. For her dissertation, she used large-scale climate data to explore ice–ocean interactions on Antarctica's largest ice shelf in the context of a warming world. During graduate school, Becker conducted fieldwork in Antarctica, Greenland, and Alaska and attended the 24th and 25th United Nations Climate Change Conferences. She also served as a marine policy fellow in the Office of US Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska. In this role, Becker staffed and provided legislative and decision-making support for the Senator on ocean, climate, and science policy issues. Most recently, she was the partnerships and production manager for the Giving List Women, a startup that uses storytelling to drive philanthropic giving to organizations supporting women and girls. In addition to her PhD, Becker holds an MS in Earth Sciences, also from Scripps Oceanography, and a BA in Earth Science with a Special Concentration in Sustainable Development from Columbia University.

Excited to join the advisory group of this new initiative launched by MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative, Warner Music Group, Live Nation Entertainment, Hope Solutions focused on the climate impacts related to the live music and touring industry! Collaboration and diverse groups working together is the only way forward to address the beast that is the climate crisis.
