We're thrilled to announce a collaboration with The Magic Boost, a professional development program for young content creators passionate about running. This partnership will connect emerging storytellers, known as Boosters, with TRE’s dynamic community. Since its founding, The Magic Boost has transformed the track and field media landscape by supporting young, diverse, and innovative voices. Through this partnership, Boosters will have the opportunity to create content that elevates diverse voices and builds a more inclusive narrative in the running world. “This collaboration with TRE is a tremendous new opportunity for our Boosters to gain insight into a different side of the running industry, beyond track and field events," said Keith Peters, Board Member of The Magic Boost. "By exploring many of the compelling stories surrounding TRE, they’re making invaluable connections that will fuel their careers.” The partnership proudly supports three Magic Boosters: Olu Olamigoke Jr. OLY, Serenity Douglas, and Taylor Mascetta. Kiera Smalls (Executive Director, Running Industry Diversity Coalition) and Harry Chandler (Co-Owner, Charlotte Running Company) recently sat down with Footwear News to speak about the current state of DEI—in the running industry and beyond. [Both Smalls and Chandler play significant roles in specialty run retail. Chandler, one of the industry’s few Black storeowners, is a respected voice in the ever-important channel. As for Smalls, her efforts include the Run the Block mentoring, education and grant program that was announced in January. This effort will provide Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) individuals or groups with support to open a store.] “The work can’t go anywhere if we want to do right by people, especially with the growing racial demographic in this country. It might have a different name, it might look different, but it’s not going away completely," said Smalls. Read the full conversation here: https://lnkd.in/d3q3kKap

Last week, TRE provided several brands, retailers, and select media a tour of its new home for 2025, the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX. "When we got the phone call that Austin was demolishing the convention center, it was a difficult call, it was a surprise. It's been an amazing home to us," TRE event director Christina Henderson said. "But with that, we started to search for a new home for TRE. We visited many cities, we did a lot of research. When we left San Antonio, I knew this was the place we were going to bring the event." Read more about TRE's 2025 host city and venue through the link below. Footwear News
