The Painted Turtle hosted a 2nd annual Family Fun Day for the staff and their families to thank them for their tireless efforts to create year-round Camp Magic. Families and staff got to experience favorite activities including boating, fishing, ropes course, arts and crafts, archery, gym and more. Thank you to the wonderful volunteers that brought the fun! The Painted Turtle is pleased to announce our newest board member, Dan Bane. Dan retired in July 2023 from Trader Joe’s Company after 25 plus years as the Chairman and CEO of this popular grocery chain. During his tenure Dan authored and championed seven core values that became the foundation for the Company’s success. Under Dan’s leadership, Trader Joe’s increased sales from $1.2 Billion to over $20 Billion while opening more than 425 stores in 42 states. He was initially introduced to The Painted Turtle by his daughter who is a longtime volunteer. We are thrilled to have his leadership and expertise to enhance the impact of our work for children with serious illnesses and their families. October 5th, 2024: Harvest Moon was a gathering that exceeded all expectations. The event was filled with energy and positivity, bringing together friends, family, supporters and music lovers united by a shared cause. The performances by Neil Young, Stephen Stills, John Mayer, Lily Meola and Masanga were electrifying, delivering passionate sets that were enjoyed by all. Harvest Moon not only raised funds for The Painted Turtle and @TheBridgeSchool but also raised awareness, deepening the connection with our community. This session is designed for our Spanish speaking community. Volunteers must be 19 years of age and complete the application process. Spanish speaking is a plus but you do not need to speak Spanish.
