Nearly 20 years after wrapping up the original construction of Covenant Health’s Fort Loudoun Medical Center, we are back to work making more space for future patients and healing at this facility in Lenior City, Tennessee. Andy Westbrook, P.E., Senior Project Manager and Knoxville’s Healthcare Specialist, and Kenneth Keel, Project Superintendent, have been leading our team and trade contractors with the construction of Covenant’s new Medical & Surgical Patient Room Addition. This 18,000 square-foot addition will be the home of 26 new patients’ bed, workspaces, visitor lounge and staff lounge. Here you can see we’re preparing to tie into the existing building at FLMC. This site is not only familiar to us, but also to several of the trade partners who are now back on this campus working to add onto a building they took pride in previously constructing. We’re looking forward to sharing the progress as we work our way towards a completion date in Fall of 2025. #webuildHEALTHCARE

Thank you to the Tennessee Department of Health for the Capital Improvement Grant awarded to Fort Loudoun Medical Center. We are deeply appreciative of the state's support, as well as the generous contributions from our philanthropic donors. This expansion will greatly enhance healthcare services in East Tennessee, making a significant impact on the lives of patients and their families who receive care at Fort Loudoun Medical Center.

Historic preservation is a passion that flows through us here at Christman. It becomes so much more than saving a building; it’s about preserving the stories, the energy, and the history that the building holds within its walls, as well as making a positive environmental impact by reusing and revitalizing existing structures. Here’s our series, “Discovering My Passion for Preservation at Christman.” Today, hear from Brandon Kettenbeil, our project engineer in Lansing, MI, and part of our Historic Preservation Group. "I was introduced to the Historic Preservation (HP) group through the Christman Way event for new hires. I was impressed by the wide range of projects we had the honor of working on and the unwavering commitment displayed by the project teams. Growing up in a small town surrounded by buildings and monuments from the late 1800s, I was always captivated by their craftsmanship. My love for older architecture and the aesthetic appeal of historic buildings has been a constant in my life. Although I am in the early stages of my construction career, I appreciate that Christman actively pursues Historic Preservation projects and provides touchpoints across all regional offices." #HistoricPreservation #PreserveHistory #BuildingLegacy #SustainableBuilding #EnvironmentalSustainability #AdaptiveReuse #CulturalHeritage #GreenBuilding

We reached a significant milestone at George Washington's Mount Vernon last week! After weeks of installing steel shoring around the building and securing it to the timber frame, we successfully engaged the unified jacking system. This crucial step relieved the historic foundation of the house's weight, allowing us to proceed with replacing the sill timbers and floor framing. We actively pursue historic preservation projects, guided by our mission: to share our legacy of specialized expertise in historic preservation contracting, enriching the world around us. 📸 The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association #MansionRevitalization #HistoricPreservation #ConstructionMilestone #ChristmanCompany #MountVernon #ArchitecturalConservation #BuildingHistory

Moving 57 Olympic-sized swimming pools worth of rock away from a job site is hard logistically and costly to any project. Our own Andy Westbrook, P.E., senior project manager, worked with a team to not only reuse the materials on-site at the Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System West healthcare facility, but they also found ways to make the project easier to expand in the future. Check it out in the article published by Healthcare Facilities Today below. You’ll see out why we think Andy is one of the best PMs in the healthcare arena! https://lnkd.in/g6uSzhfY

When asked what the most enjoyable part of the project at Agricultural and Natural Resource Building at University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) has been, Butch Hale, general superintendent said, “building relationships.” Butch talks about the several UTK projects he’s been a part of and sees how integral his relationships with the UTK leadership and project staff have been and will be on future projects. This speaks directly to one of our core values, building lasting relationships. The Agricultural and Natural Resource Building stands 5 floors tall and consists of cutting-edge research labs, classrooms, office spaces, an auditorium, several student communal spaces, and a café (that sells UT chicken/beef!). One of the many unique features that stands out is the eco-friendly green roof, designed to accommodate 90 individuals amidst an oasis of trees, plants, and research plots, fostering a living laboratory for environmental studies. There are so many great features of this building! Great work Knoxville team!

With the August Bond Election Cycle less than a month away, it's good to review the May Bond Election Analysis our Bond Services Marketing Manager Brett Gillespie put together. Two brief points of recap: in May the highest millage increase that passed was .82 mills, and the zero mill passage rate statewide dropped from a 20-year average of 94% to 79% this past election cycle. School bond elections are changing in Michigan, but our Bond Services experts are staying on top of those changes and developing best practices to help ensure success for our K-12 clients. Check out Brett's analysis below 👇
