As she pursued her Master of Social Work degree, Bethany Presley came to St. David's for a clinical internship to build knowledge and experience serving children and families who have faced trauma or developmental and mental-health challenges. Spring is in full bloom, and our outdoor spaces at the Minnetonka Center are shining brighter than ever! A huge thanks to the incredible volunteers from Fluid Interiorswho prepared our Big Playground, Little Playground, and Outdoor Classroom for summer. Their hard work included refilling sandboxes, clearing drainage areas, spreading mulch, planting flowers and revitalizing unused sections. The children are thrilled with the results! She discussed strategies for professionals to recognize early signs of distress in children, as we help make early intervention the standard. Such signs of challenge can include behavior changes, aggressiveness, hyperactivity, mood swings or withdrawal.
