September is #NationalRecoveryMonth, a time to celebrate the power of recovery and the hope that comes with it. Alex Avila, Spring Health Business Development Manager and President of ERG Sober @ Spring, bravely opened up about his personal journey in recovery—a story of overcoming challenges and finding strength in the face of adversity. Openly discussing mental health and substance use can help break stigma and encourage others to put their health and lives first. Thank you, Alex, for your honesty and commitment to making a difference. 🌿 #sobriety #mentalhealth

Managers make sure the show runs smoothly and that all team members are in tune. And as any renowned conductor will tell you, it takes more than just a good ear. 🎺 As Spring Health Co-Founder and President Adam Chekroud says, “A lot of first-time managers were promoted because they were strong individual contributors, and now they’ve picked up these additional people management responsibilities...And people have woefully not trained for that transition.” We equip managers with the tools, training, and support they need to unlock true harmony at your organization. People leaders gain access to guides, tactical action plans, and on-demand sessions that cover topics from managing conflict to providing support during a crisis. Let’s make some music. It’s the little things like this that can make a big difference. Kelsey Burgad, Product Marketer at Spring Health, recently shared this note from her son’s kindergarten teacher. This is how you do it! Let’s build a world where all kids feel safe expressing their emotions. Where they aren’t afraid to ask for help when they need it. Where they’re taught how to process big feelings in healthy ways. Thank you to all the teachers, administrators, school psychologists, coaches and more who are making the back-to-school season less stressful and scary for kids (and their families!). #handlewithcare #teachers #backtoschool

U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy is sounding the alarm in an advisory issued this week on the mental health and well-being of parents, stating, “they are struggling, often in silence and alone.” 33% of parents reported high levels of stress in the past month, compared to 20% of other adults. The impact of prolonged stress ripples through the family, affecting their children’s well-being and increasing the risks of depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. At Spring Health, we're deeply committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of families. Our family solution is designed to meet the evolving needs of working parents and their dependents. Here are some of the ways we support families: ✅ Family Care Dashboard where parents can manage care for themselves and dependents all in one place. ✅ Parent Coaching designed to help parents through every phase and stage with coaches who specialize in youth and teens. ✅ The ability for parents to initiate care on behalf of their teen. ✅ Dedicated teen experience empowering teens with self-guided exercises and access to specialized care. ✅ Centralized benefits navigation across fertility, family care, and medical categories to promote whole-person health. The advisory highlights the urgent need to better support the mental health and well-being of families in the digital age. Beyond traditional concerns about finances and safety, parents now face new stressors in navigating technology, social media, and their impact on youth mental health. Data from the CDC and Mental Health America shows that our youth are in crisis: 🚨 32% of adolescents aged 13-18 have an anxiety disorder 🚨 22% high school students have seriously considered suicide in the past year 🚨 52% increase in adolescent depression in the past 20 years 🚨 60% of youth and teens who need mental health care don’t get it Learn more about Spring Health Family Care, here: https://lnkd.in/ghvmrF5f

Neurodiverse ≠ wrong or bad Neurodiverse = different But for #neurodivergent kids and teens navigating conditions like #ADHD or #autism, being “different” can be tough. In some cases it can increase the risk of other mental health challenges—in fact, nearly 3 in 10 children diagnosed with ADHD also have an #anxiety disorder. So, how can we make sure neurodivergent children get the support they need to thrive? 💚 Parents raising neurodivergent kids can help them build confidence and reframe their conditions as positive. Their unique way of seeing, expressing, and interacting with the world is something to be celebrated, not suppressed or punished. 💚 Employers can give #workingparents the flexibility and benefits they need to be there for their kids. Moreover, they can play an important role in breaking stigma and normalizing neurodivergence. 💚 A neurodivergence-informed #therapist can help kids focus on their strengths, navigate challenges, and build emotional resilience. The bottom line: Support from all angles can make a huge difference in kids’ lives.
