🎉 WHAT A DAY! 🎉 Our Grand Opening last week in Zurich was simply unforgettable – it went beyond anything we imagined! 🚀    🏭 Our brand-new 1530 m² facility – including 200 m² of professional cleanrooms got the spotlight it deserves  🤝 Amazing connections made  💡 Mind-blowing demos and discussions    From telecom to quantum to space – the future is ultrafast. 🌌    The program and talks of the day brought some great speakers on stage: 🔭 Applications of Ultrafast Lasers with Rico Chandra (Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA)), Qiushuo Sun (BT Group), Anan Dai (Cycle GmbH), Amir Nejadmalayeri (Aegiq), and Dan Sadot (CyberRidge) 🚀 The Future of Photonics 2025–2035 with Ursula Keller (ETH Zürich), Carlos Lee EPIC (EPIC - EUROPEAN PHOTONICS INDUSTRY CONSORTIUM), Daniel Gilks (BT Group), and our very own Anna Pogrebna & Florian Emaury about the future of Menhir Photonics     This Grand Opening marked our transition into high-volume manufacturing of ultrafast lasers. The day brought together industry leaders, partners and investors with workshops on ultrafast laser applications, networking and demos in the new 1530 m² facility (including 200 m² of cleanrooms), as well as outlook talks on the future of photonics from leading experts. It was a great opportunity to reflect on how Menhir Photonics have developed since 2018, and plan to expand in the future.     And on the tech news? 🤯  📈 Our MENHIR-1550 at 10 GHz is coming in our next-gen compact system  🤖 Robot automation paving the way for tens of thousands of units per year in 2028  ⚡ Unprecedented reliability & noise performance that redefine industry standards    🙏 A huge thank you to everyone who joined and contributed – you made this milestone possible. What impressed us most: Federal Councilor Martin Pfister's genuine curiosity, openness to dialogue, and recognition of our teams’ achievements. His message: "Beyond Gravity is not just a company – it’s a piece of Swiss innovation power." 💡 Last Friday, Martin Pfister visited #BeyondGravity in Zurich-Seebach – his first visit since our company was assigned to the DDPS earlier this summer. Between a tour of our production facilities, insights into our proud space heritage, and an open dialogue with colleagues, the focus was clear: the future of Beyond Gravity and Switzerland’s role in the global #SpaceIndustry. 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐂𝐄!🔊🤯 ***turn on sound*** Everyone knows that spoken words can be powerful, but with Kistler Group’s extremely sensitive measurement equipment, you can actually measure the force your voice generates as sound waves hit the piezoelectric dynamometer. Thanks to the #jBEAM measurement analysis tool, we were able to convert the force signal generated by Noah Bourjea’s voice back into an audio signal. And it almost sounds like it was recorded with a microphone! While this might look like playful experimentation, it actually highlights some fascinating technical insights: 1️⃣ Wide Rangeability The dynamometer is designed for forces in the thousands of Newtons, yet it can detect even the tiniest vibrations, thanks to a high-quality charge amplifier. This makes it ideal for #microvibration measurements, such as optimizing reaction wheel imbalances to enhance #satellite performance. 2️⃣ High Frequency Response The clarity of Noah’s voice shows the incredible frequency range of the piezoelectric technology. Its high stiffness enables a high natural frequency, allowing for dynamic measurements that other technologies simply can't match.
