How you doin'?! We can tell you that Customers onboard Flight #4437 were doing pretty well when they realized they were about to embark on a surprise & delight flight to celebrate 30 years of the hit TV show Friends! Customers were treated to Friends trivia and prizes in the gate and then Friends hats as they boarded the plane. Inflight they were served by our very own Central Perk baristas, a.k.a. our amazing Flight Attendants, had opportunities to win Warner Brothers Studio Tour passes during another round of trivia, and gifted even more Friends swag. In partnership with Warner Bros. TV all Customers can take part in the 30 year anniversary by enjoying fan favorite episodes in the Inflight Entertainment Portal. *Note for Employee images: Specialty uniform items were approved for this promotional flight only and not part of the Southwest Airlines uniform.*

We’re excited to share that our Repurpose with Purpose environmental sustainability initiative won the Changemakers Award in the People & Community Category! The Skift IDEA awards honor inspiring, purpose-driven work from brands, agencies, and technology companies redefining the future of travel. Repurpose with Purpose was founded in 2014 and in the 10 years since launch, it has grown to include 12 partners benefitting diverse communities, including veterans, active-military members, women overcoming addiction, students, artisans, rural and indigenous communities, survivors of human trafficking, and people experiencing homelessness. Have you ever wondered how airplanes fly? 🤔 We went over to our engine shop so that Nikki, one of our amazing Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, could teach us a little bit about how an airplane engine works. We hope you learned something new!

Meet John, a Flight Attendant who has been a cherished member of the Southwest Family for the last 6.5 years. A little over a year ago, he embarked on a heartfelt project, creating a "Book of Wisdom" to collect stories from fellow Flight Attendants and Customers during his journeys. His notebook is filled with tales of love, loss, wisdom, and advice from travelers all across the world. When we learned about John's inspiring notebook, we wanted to celebrate him by surprising one of his flights with journals for all the Passengers onboard. This way, they could begin collecting their own travel stories and continue spreading kindness and love wherever they went. How fitting we were able to surprise this flight on #NationalEncouragementDay! We hope this story inspires you to engage with those around you, gather stories, give encouragement, and spread joy.
