Exciting news from Southern Hops Brewing Company! 🎉🍻 Last night at the 2024 South Carolina Brewers Cup, we proudly took home two medals 🏅🏅. Out of over 300 beer submissions across 19 categories, our Leeroy Brown Ale won the Bronze Medal and our Blackwater Porter won the Silver Medal. 🥉🥈 We are thrilled to be recognized among such fierce competition and are grateful for the support of the SOUTH CAROLINA BREWERS GUILD and thank you to Savage Craft Ale Works for the hospitality. 🚨 Introducing our new HEAD BREWER Wayne Cannon 🚨 Enjoy some fun facts about Wayne! 🍺 🍺 🍺 Q: How long have you been with SHBC? A: 9 Months Q: Where are you from originally? A: Pittsburgh, but I have lived in SC for 3 years Q: How did you get started in the industry? A: Home brewing and knowing the right people in the community. I have been touring breweries for a long time and have been a craft beer connoisseur for a decade. Q: What is your favorite Southern Hops brew to make? A: Inlet Haze- it has the most hops and also the most complicated process and takes a ton of attention to detail. Q: Do you have any exciting new beers planned? A: We are working on a new stout for the winter as well as a marzen that will be released at the end of this month. Q: Where do you see SHBC in a few years from now? A: I hope that we are distributing across the East Coast as well as acquiring more tanks which means more production and more Beer! Q: What do you do in your free time?
