D&I Tip of the Day: You can't fix a problem until you are honest about what the real issue is. Likewise, some difficulties may actually present possibilities when it is viewed from the proper lens. For example, Diversity can be a problem or an opportunity. Presented as a rhetorical question and used as an idiom, DEIA champions can challenge conventional ideas with this simple question: Is the glass half-empty or half-full?

Pivot Point: Is the new administration throwing meritocracy out the window in favor of loyalty and favor? Time will tell. Why Christopher Rufo gets it wrong about the Boeing Decision and why new Boeing leadership is making a mistake by backing away from diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Just my perspective. https://lnkd.in/gsK-Znxr

Our news cycle has a negativity bias. Heard some of these... 👀 DEI is Dying 👀 DEI is a Lightning Rod for Controversy 👀 Companies are Pulling Out of HRC (Human Rights Campaign) Did you know? 🔥 DEI is Growing Annually by 12% 🔥 78% of Employees Want DEI 🔥 HRC Foundation Announces Record Participation in Upcoming 2025 Corporate Equality Index Yet, these headlines do not get the same attention. Allies, let's be diligent about challenging news headlines and falsehoods. There are more of us than the naysayers want us to believe. Yesterday I made a joke about renaming DEI to something obscure and objectively universal. But in reality, US companies will likely have to rebrand DEI to ensure the work can continue. I've never been one for semantics, so as long as the work is happening, I'm not tied to a name or acronym. I've seen the field go from D&I to I&D to IDEA to JEDI to DEI to IDEAB. Here are some of my (semi-serious) suggestions. I would love to hear what other people suggest. Also, I recommend companies all name it something different so it's harder to unroot and attack. Workforce Performance Optimization Collective (WPOC) - that acronym is a little too on the nose. Dynamic Team Optimization (DTO) - How could Trump attack a function that has his initials? Performance Xceleration Lab (PXL) - See what I did there? Sounds like a bodybuilder's protein supplement. People, Product, and Market Team (PPMT) - Focus on what the solutions impact These are just a few of my suggestions. Any other thoughts?

Multi-national organizations must still account for culture and diversity in products/services, compliance, market share, competition, the C-Suite and Boardroom. Even US-based employers will continue to address neurodiversity, pyschological safety, disability and accessibility, mental health and wellness, collaboration, recruiting from different groups, AI bias, generational diversity, work-life, and more. Diversity is not going away; it will only get better from here. Get your team certified: https://lnkd.in/eWjt7xg

Over the last 13 weeks, I’ve been fully immersed in something transformative: the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women Program. I've been pushing hard, growing and truly stepping into my role as a business owner and CEO in ways I never imagined. Being selected for this rigorous program is a tremendous honor, and I’m deeply grateful for every lesson, every connection, and every breakthrough moment. I’m so proud of each member of my cohort. It’s inspiring to see what happens when talented, dedicated Black women come together with a common goal and the resources to make a real difference. Now, more than ever, we need to support and invest in Black women business owners. Did you know Black women face a 90% wealth gap? Across economic measures like wealth, earnings, and health, Black women are still heavily disadvantaged, and this program has shown me how critical it is to keep pushing for change. Through a $10 billion commitment, Goldman Sachs has made a historic investment in the success of Black women. This program has equipped me with invaluable tools and a network I never knew I needed. That's why I owe it to myself, my community, and every Black woman who is striving to implement what I’ve learned to grow my business and reach new heights. Thank you to Goldman Sachs, New York University, ICIC , and everyone who made this program possible. The journey doesn’t end here; it’s only the beginning! Can't wait to see everyone at graduation! #OneMillionBlackWomen #BlackWomenThrive #InvestInBlackWomen
