Yesterday, we hosted a joint press conference with Mayor Freddie O'Connell and the members of our Nashville Wellness Collaborative (NWC) where we announced the $1 million dollar grant that Metro has provided as seed-funding to launch the Heart of Nashville, an initiative which aims to combat uncontrolled hypertension in North Nashville and create the city's first Wellness Opportunity Zone. This multi-year initiative will work directly with our anchor organization, the Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center, to connect participants with support services provided by partner organizations within the 37208 community. We are excited to launch this pilot project which will serve as a model to significantly improve health disparities across Nashville moving forward.
