It has been a minute, but some exciting stuff is happening at RMP! We can't wait to fill you in. We want to start by sharing about our partnership with The Oakland REACH. Students who do not read proficiently by 3rd grade are more likely to drop out of high school and not graduate on time. At RMP we are changing the status quo by ensuring our 3rd-5th grade students reading below grade level receive additional support through high-dosage tutoring from our PEAK Family Tutors. This year we have partnered with Oakland REACH to launch the Liberator Model and upskill families as full-time salaried (with benefits!) tutors with opportunities for career/educational advancement. As part of Oakland’s two-day REACH Way Institute, our senior leaders recently reimagined what is possible when we share power with families and invite them into our schools as true partners in our movement.
