About us

Successful SaaS is not about sales, it’s not about marketing. It’s not even about a great product. Getting SaaS right is about the perfect balance of product, marketing, sales, and customer success. Any less than all of these 4 components acting in perfect harmony leads to failure. Revelesco deliver mission critical advice, coaching & strategic support to startups & scaleups between late stage seed & Series C. Our Whole Revenue Strategy deep-dives are action oriented & deliver extraordinary results: increased predictability, tighter focus, ACV uplift, increased win rates, decreased sales cycles, more ICP opportunities; and a host of other critical metrics. There are 3 ways to work with us. 1. WHOLE REVENUE STRATEGY: This is what we live for & is the best way to move the needle if you are somewhere between late seed & Series C. Most start-ups & scale-ups fail and we vastly reduce that risk. 2. BLENDED COACHING: Each of our C-level team has been an operator in their field. Whilst we are more than capable of pure-play coaching we tend to find that our clients want a blend of coaching, advice & mentoring. 3. RETAINED ADVICE: For some clients we bundle up our coaching & advising into one easy to manage retainer. You pay us a straightforward fee, and get access to our entire team.

This is my 10 point checklist for hiring a revenue leader. Feel free to steal - I'll expand on it in a newsletter in the coming weeks. 1. Strategically capable - they have objectives & know how to plan to get there. 2. Tactically astute - they have a model for every eventuality & know how to execute fast & well. 3. A growth mindset - they are systematic with cataloguing their experience. When they get it wrong, they learn, they adapt, they grow. They soak up case studies, books & external learning having a knack for adapting the learning to their own role. 4. They love to coach - people like them, they like people. People grow & develop on their watch. 5. Spots talent & attracts it - they recognise the best in the world, and the best want to work for them. 6. Forecasts with accuracy - setting expectations perfectly, they get it right; and the logic they present is understandable & coherent. 7. Framework driven - Nothing is done on the fly. They apply & adapt models which systematically deliver the planned results. 8. Analytical - We love hearing their breakdown and their insight always delivers a reliable perspective. 9. Treats risk and opportunity with equivalent merit - they have an intrinsic understanding of how to push for the impossible without overstepping the boundaries of reality. 10. And their leadership style looks like this. They: Demonstrate strong ethics & a sense of safety. Empower others to self organise. Foster a sense of connection & belonging. Show openness to new ideas & foster organizational learning. Nurture growth. Plan and execute efficiently & successfully.

Half of my coaching clients are women. 6 of the 8 leaders on the core Revelesco team are women. All of them are extraordinary. All of them have had to deal with exhausting nonsense as they have built their SaaS careers. I don't normally like leaving the house unless I'm walking the hound, but I was so impressed by Izzy Bishop from Wiser Elite that she persuaded me to actually leave the house to record this pod on Removing the Glass Ceiling. We discussed: - Why diversity is not a nice-to-have - How to hire from a diverse candidate pool - The importance of language - Being intentional - Salaries in job specs - Imposter syndrome - Barriers to female progression - Emotions vs logic I have to say it's quite nerve wracking to speak as an outsider on a topic of such critical importance. So if any of you have critique for me on how I can express myself better on this essential subject, please let me know. Excellence, elite performance, extraordinary success, getting up at 4am to drink matcha & work out 🍵 🏋️. LinkedIn preaches this constantly. You probably know that most of what you see are instagram ready nonsense posts that makes the OP feel good about themselves & the rest of us feel useless. But what if you actually want success? Amy Edmondson is a Harvard scholar who has conducted some fascinating studies into psychological safety & crucially the creation of environments that allow for mistakes. The roots of excellence lie in failure. As a leader, ask yourself, am I creating environments where my team feels able to get it wrong. That’s where success lies.

What's a trinity when there's four of them? A quaternity! Successful Revenue is not about sales, it's not about marketing. It's not even about a great product. Getting Revenue right is about the perfect balance of the SaaS Quaternity: - Desirability - We have built a product that heals pain - Clarity - We tell a story that explains this clearly - Predictability - We can distribute this message at scale - Deliverability - We always fulfil the promise we made to the customer Sounds so simple, but so many fail to execute. Take a look at the rest of the article for the how. Can I give you some feedback? What do you think they're going to say to you next? Are you getting that seasick feeling deep in your stomach? Here's how to give feedback without triggering threat circuitry using the AEIOU Framework: A - And. Instead of ‘but’. If I said to you, “that presentation was great…”– what word are you expecting to hear next? ‘But’ or ‘However’ most likely. Instead try,  “That presentation was great, and to make it even stronger you could….”. E - Effort. We are rewarded neurologically far more for the effort we put in than for the end result. It is critical to notice the hard work that got the individual and/or team there, not just the output. I - Intention. People come to work to do a good job. So first think about what their intention was before an error occurred. Coming from a premise that we are all seeking to do our best helps to regulate our emotions and respond to the facts. O - Opportunity. In every genuine error, there is an opportunity to learn, to continually test, learn and improve. When we contribute and own our learning, we are more motivated to implement the changes and advice. U -You. Focus on yourself. How are you feeling? What are you thinking? What is your mood? Is this the right time to share feedback? If not, maybe wait for a more suitable moment. The full framework, conceived & written by Revelesco Leadership Coach, Susanne Jacobs, is linked below in our latest #WholeRevenueStrategy Substack.

CEO and leadership transitions all have the specter of uncertainty and pitfalls hanging over them. Succeed and it can set a company on a course towards growth and prosperity. Fail and the company can unravel out of existence. The TL;DR of the piece I've written on the Revelesco substack is how to use strategic communications to overcome The Uncertainty Gap - what I define as the period of time between when a CEO enters the role and the end of the transition period 90 days later. All based on personal experience. It includes actionable steps to manage internal and external stress points such as employee anxiety, customer concerns over service quality/disruptions, investor/shareholder scrutiny, and potential negative market commentary. "Bridging the Uncertainty Gap" - read the full piece here: https://lnkd.in/gh3FYJjX
