His dedication extends far beyond his role on our team as a Market Partner, as he serves with the Veterans Medical Leadership Council to support veterans’ health initiatives across Arizona. He’s also involved with Make-A-Wish events for wish kids, serves on multiple Red Robin committees, and mentors youth through his church's ministries. We attended national corporate sponsor Red Robin's annual conference here in Denver to celebrate their partnership with Make-A-Wish and the incredible milestone of donating $1 million to Make-A-Wish nationally through their kids' meal campaign! Wish kid Andrew, whose wish to go to Walt Disney World Resort was granted earlier last year, LOVES Red Robin and their mascot, Red. He was delighted to share his wish story with the crowd. Wish kid Lyla, whose wish to go to Hawaii will be granted later this year, also attended ahead with her family. The Red Robin team surprised them with new luggage fully stocked with Hawaiian-themed goodies! I spent the day at Red Robin HQ, or what’s internally called “Yummm U.” I caught up with CEO G.J. Hart, CMO Kevin Mayer, Kathleen Bush, and Hannah Atteberry to get an inside look at what’s one of the most involved and dramatic turnarounds I’ve seen in this industry. I don’t want to give much away (big story coming soon) but the broad view is a massive, quality-centered culinary rerouting and a brand message that’s going to promote all of it (also more to share here soon). But speaking of culinary, according to VP of culinary Brian Sullivan, I set the record for the most dishes ever consumed in the test kitchen at 20. Everything from wings to five burgers to ribs to multiple cocktails, milkshakes, desserts, and more. I’m always willing to do the hard things for this job.
