Our bi-weekly presentations are a great way for employees to share what they've learned with their peers. It's also a great way for employees to gain confidence in their public speaking abilities. Our latest presenter, design professional Daniel Lopez, born and raised in Colombia, shared, "I presented my thesis project, 'Containing the Public Space' with the aim of the project being to transform a hostile area in central Bogota, Colombia—currently home to a women's prison and a military academy—into a vibrant neighborhood. My approach involved offering flexible residential units, commercial spaces, and green areas to breathe new life into the community. During the presentation, I emphasized insights from my experience working at QA+M while also exploring the differences between designing and building in Bogota compared to Connecticut." This week, we’re taking the opportunity to highlight four fun facts about our recent hire Michael! Everlong by the Foo Fighters was the first song I learned to play on a guitar. One of my favorite pass times is tending to the cucumbers in my garden, they’re just interesting little plants. This year I am attending a Renaissance Fair in typical medieval peasant cosplay. Such a fun way of unveiling Koroseal Interior Products new branding by opening up a "Rediscover Koroseal" VIP box! The new company colors, new logo and new design capabilities for designers have positively shifted Koroseal's image to appeal to their intended & targeted audience. An example of their design capabilities include, glass films with complete customization capabilities (pattern, opacity, and scale). This summer we welcome two interns, Ashley White and Dominic Cavallo! During their time here, we aspire to build their confidence, help guide their career goals and provide them with valuable, hands-on work experience. World Interiors Day has been established as a global holiday by the International Federation of Architects / Designers! This year, the theme is "Design Matters", emphasizing the importance of positive change, the ability to promote innovation and creativity, and how people's quality of lives are impacted. To acknowledge National Small Business Day, let's dive into QA+M's history to see how we got where we are today! In 1996, Architect, David Quisenberry launched his own business called Paragon, providing both architecture and construction management services. Then in 2002, Architect, Thomas P. Arcari II joins the firm as a partner, expanding the business and changing the name to Quisenberry Arcari Architects. 8 years later, Architect, Rusty Malik joined the firm rounding out the partnership and changing the name to what it is now, Quisenberry, Arcari, Malik (AKA QA+M Architecture).
