On the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act , a landmark achievement to promote equal opportunity for people with disabilities, we're proud to reflect on over 20 year of the work we've done to support better education outcomes and access for students with disabilities. Throughout the last year, we have worked closely with the Autism Alliance of Michigan to analyze a survey they conducted to better understand the barriers people have experienced when they engage with the Michigan special education system. Our work has focused on elevating the current realities of those with lived experience, identify system barriers, inform policy change efforts and amplify the voices of parents and students with disabilities. #ADA34 #ThanksToTheADA #ADAAnniversary #specialeducation #inclusion #michigan #autism #equity

Thanks to the Governor’s Office of Foundation Liaison for inviting us to meet with state department leaders to discuss top priorities and opportunities for philanthropic partnerships. We joined other Council of Michigan Foundations members to talk about leading environmental issues and how to make more effective and intentional environmental grants, impact environmental policy and leverage grant dollars. #networking #philanthropy #environmentalpolicy

We worked with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to develop its 2022-2032 Trails Plan. This plan, shaped by input from a diverse group of people who use the trails, covers over 13,400 miles of trails and focuses on enhancing Michigan residents and visitors’ experiences. The DNR has launched a survey to hear directly from people who hit the trails. Share your thoughts and help shape Michigan's trail system! #MichiganTrails #Survey #ExploreMichigan

PSC and VVK PR + Creative co-hosted a private Detroit reception with local leaders and community advocates who value building relationships, solving problems and making a difference for people who live in and around the city. It was a chance for our mission-aligned teams to make meaningful connections with mutual friends and clients. Thank you to the team who made this possible, especially Adriana Jimenez, Lukasz Wietrzynski and Colin Tury, the owners of one of Midtown’s newest restaurants, Vecino, for a great evening. #networking #communty #detroit Peter Van Dyke Jamie Kaye Walters

This year’s Michigan Harm Reduction Summit, hosted by the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, put the experiences of those directly affected by substance abuse at the forefront. Their stories and voices are needed to help navigate the overdose crisis and support the idea that harm-reduction efforts, such as syringe service programs, keep people safe and alive. #HarmReduction #PublicHealth
