The number of people who died from opioid overdoses nationwide increased by a staggering 2,108 % between 1999 and 2021. Over the past three years, PSC has worked with public health organizations and other program partners to build and grow the Michigan Overdose Prevention Coalition. MOPC supports evidence-based approaches like harm reduction services providing access and helping save lives. #HarmReductionTools #OverdosePrevention #SaferSpaces #SupportNotStigma

PSC and VVK PR + Creative co-hosted a private Detroit reception with local leaders and community advocates who value building relationships, solving problems and making a difference for people who live in and around the city. It was a chance for our mission-aligned teams to make meaningful connections with mutual friends and clients. Thank you to the team who made this possible, especially Adriana Jimenez, Lukasz Wietrzynski and Colin Tury, the owners of one of Midtown’s newest restaurants, Vecino, for a great evening. #networking #communty #detroit Peter Van Dyke Jamie Kaye Walters

This year’s Michigan Harm Reduction Summit, hosted by the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, put the experiences of those directly affected by substance abuse at the forefront. Their stories and voices are needed to help navigate the overdose crisis and support the idea that harm-reduction efforts, such as syringe service programs, keep people safe and alive. #HarmReduction #PublicHealth

Our perennial dedication to Downtown Lansing Inc.'s Adopt-a-Spot program is in full bloom. PSCers spent an afternoon planting flowers in one of the garden beds outside our office building that we’ll continue to care for throughout the spring and summer months. #community #gardening #LoveLansing

One of the harsh realities exposed by our work with the Growing Michigan Together Council is that Michigan is a net importer of college students and a net exporter of talent. Young people are leaving Michigan after they get a world class college education. Continuing conversations that lead to action about retaining this talented and skilled workforce is crucial for businesses to thrive and our state to grow. #MPC24 #talentdevelopment #LetsGrowMichigan
Always great to hear our outstanding university presidents talking about how to retain students here in Michigan, which was part of the recommendations from the Growing Michigan Together Council that Public Sector Consultants supported and Bill Pink and University of Michigan President Santa Ono were a part of. #mpc24

As Andre Perry said in this session, “…as far as [bettering the] conditions for Black-owned small businesses go, it creates better conditions for overall quality of life for the entire community … we need to break this mindset that investing in one group is to the detriment of someone else.” Making racial equity a priority is critical as the state moves to implement the recommendations from the Growing Michigan Together Council and is vital to raising up all people and making our communities more vibrant. #MPC24 #sustainabledevelopment #racialequity
Listening to a great conversation about the importance of racial equity in Michigan’s population growth. Glad to see the important work of the Growing Michigan Together Council, which Public Sector Consultants supported last year, is front and center at #MPC24. #letsgrowmichigan
