Join Pierce County’s Planning and Public Works (PPW) Department as the Long Range Planning Division Manager and lead the charge in regional and local planning efforts that make a tangible impact on our diverse communities and natural areas. In this role you will: ▪️ Act on behalf of the Department Director for Comprehensive Plan development, shoreline management, and regional growth strategy. ▪️ Serve as the County’s subject matter expert on growth management and regional planning. ▪️ Coordinate with tribes, state agencies, regional bodies, cities, towns, adjacent counties, and internal stakeholders regarding comprehensive land use planning, annexation, urban growth area boundaries, and other planning issues of regional significance. ▪️ Evaluate and improve policies and outreach programs to advance responsible and equitable growth. ▪️ Oversee boards and commissions, ensuring compliance with public meeting requirements. ▪️ Develop and review County regulations, ordinances, and resolutions. ▪️ Oversee the development of division’s budget, grant proposals; administer and allocate funds within assigned cost centers.     Pierce County Human Services is awarding over $6 million to 29 local programs to improve educational outcomes in early learning, K-12, and post-secondary study. 🙌 Funding from the Puget Sound Taxpayer Accountability Account (PSTAA) will be used for educational services, facilities, and programs for children and youth that are low-income, experiencing homelessness, or are in foster care.
