This is my favorite quote from 2024. Jensen Huang, the visionary Founder and CEO of NVIDIA, recently made waves with his thought-provoking statement to Stanford students: "I wish upon you ample doses of pain and suffering." While it may sound harsh, his point was that struggles and challenges are essential for building the resilience and strength of character necessary for true greatness. As Huang argued, "Greatness is not intelligence. Greatness comes from character. And character isn't formed out of smart people. It's formed out of people who suffered." His words *deeply* resonate with my own experience as an entrepreneur. The greatest lessons and growth have come from navigating mistakes, setbacks, and dark times. Pain is never wished for, but it can serve as a powerful catalyst for developing grit, wisdom, and a tenacious spirit. Huang's advice to embrace hardship, learn from it, and openly discuss the importance of resilience is invaluable for leaders. So here's to welcoming the inevitable challenges on the journey and allowing them to forge our character and deepen our humanity.
