    Q2 wrap-up from my desk at Paragon Legal: On the heels of a busy end to Q1, Q2 broke records for us for client demand, adding nearly half of the new clients we had in all of 2023 (a record new logo year). While commercial and tech trans demand is not back to where it was in 2021/2022, product/privacy, employment, and legal ops were hot hot hot. The candidate pool is still very large due to layoffs and mismatched to client’s current practice area demands. Most flex talent needs are still primarily remote, even if the client themselves are back on-site, but we’re starting to see hybrid come back a bit (not with a vengeance) Budget pressure is real and clients are looking for talented attorneys in lower area COL areas and are shifting law firm work at a pace I haven’t experienced before. Clients are asking us what other departments are doing about AI, but right now it’s still mainly in the figuring it out stage. We’ve had more clients interested in testing ScreensAI through our partnership. Conversions were the highest they’ve been in 2 years, but extensions are also high, seemingly a company by company situation and hard to say it’s a macro bounceback. I’m sure I’m missing a lot. You should expect a potential employer to extrapolate what you’ll be like as an employee from your interactions with them during the hiring process.     So what does it really mean to "research the job"? Paragon's Michael Witcoskie breaks it down into actionable steps, starting with researching the person(s) you will be speaking with in this week's #RecruitingTipTuesday 👇 You’ve got the interview for your perfect job! What do you need to know for the interview? Everyone says to research the job, but what does that mean? Let’s break it down.  ⭐ Research the person(s) you will be speaking with.   ⭐ Research the individual job using the job description, but it’s probably not all there.   ⭐ Research the company (admittedly, this is difficult).  This is part one of a four-part series. Let’s call it my ode to Fast and Furious, Star Wars, Bourne Identity. 🧑💻Today, let’s tackle researching your interviewer(s). One way to research the interviewer is to find what you have in common. Go to their LinkedIn page. You want them to get a notification that you viewed their page. This way, they know that you are doing your homework.  > What school(s) did they go to?   > Where have they worked?  > Did you work at a competitor?   > Have they worked with someone you know?   > Is there someone out there that you didn’t realize could give you a recommendation for this position?   > Do we have shared experiences from our past that can help shape our future together? People have mentioned my past career in coaching basketball and spoken about coaching their son or daughter’s team. Does it automatically get you to the next stage? Absolutely not, but it does let me know that you have done your homework and are very interested in this position.
