What’s under the grass at SMU? An earthquake detection system and more. Geohazard monitoring with fiber optic sensors is now becoming routine in multiple seismic observatories. Our OptaSense and Silixa #DAS architectures are actively being used for permanent monitoring in various #earthquake, #volcanic and induced seismicity settings. Our Technical Director J. Andres Chavarria will be hosting the workshop on “Fiber Optic Sensing in Geoscience and Seismology” during the upcoming IUGG/IASPEI Assembly of the Latin American and Caribbean Seismological Commission.
