Get to know Caio Freitas, Olympia's QA Software Developer! You recently became a father; congratulations again! What advice do you have for raising a family while maintaining a healthy work-life balance? "Thank you! My faith in Jesus is the only reason I am who I am today, and he is the one I look to for wisdom in being a father and leader of my family. If there is one advice I'd give, it would be to model your life after him. He knew how to get things done, but also took time to love those around him better than anyone." What is the most challenging aspect of your role? "As a software developer at Olympia, what I do can have a substantial impact on our many daily users. A simple bug in my code could potentially slow down someone's operations by several hours to maybe even days. On the flip side, I also have the opportunity to create tools and features that significantly improve how they achieve their goals." Could you tell us about your family? "My wife Lauren is my greatest gift; I learn from her daily. She is the best mom to our little boy, always patient and always tending to him with a smile on her face. On top of that, she also works a full-time job currently and has excelled in her role, becoming an important leader/manager at her company. Our little guy is only three months old, but I couldn't imagine life without him anymore, it's as if he was always here. He just recently learned to smile, and I can't get enough of him. I'm definitely that dad that talks too much about his child." What is your creative outlet? "I love home projects. Growing up I would come home from school to my mom watching HGTV literally every single day. I even got my bachelor's in architecture and design. Most recently, I finished remodeling our son's room, and I'm pretty proud of that project. Here is a picture." Thank you, Caio, for giving us some insight into your professional and personal life! I am excited to share that I have successfully completed my first Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) rotation at Olympia Pharmaceuticals. This rotation has been an incredible journey where I had the unique opportunity to immerse myself in both 503A and 503B facilities. During this time, I gained a profound understanding of the laws and regulations governing compounding pharmacies. Throughout my rotation, I was privileged to witness true compounding in action, answer clinical questions, and formulate drug information handouts for many of the products compounded at Olympia. One of the highlights was presenting on “Unlocking Cellular Vitality and Lifelong Wellness with NAD+,” an experience that allowed me to delve deep into the subject and share valuable insights. I am deeply thankful to the dedicated pharmacists who generously shared their expertise and reinforced my passion for this career path. A special thank you to my preceptors, Jonathan Ramnauth and Katie Rigg, PharmD for their unwavering support and guidance. Your mentorship has been instrumental in my professional growth and learning. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I had at Olympia Pharmaceuticals, and I am looking forward to applying the knowledge and skills I have gained as I continue my journey in pharmacy.
