📣 McKee Materials, in collaboration with JobsOhio, OhioSE, and the Southeastern Ohio Port Authority, announced an investment of over $980,000 in Washington County, Ohio. With deep family roots in the paving industry, McKee Paving & Sealing was founded in 2013 and further expanded into the mining of raw materials and operation of hot-mix asphalt plants as McKee Materials in 2016. Mckee is a veteran-owned company that currently has two locations in Athens and Jackson counties and is adding an asphalt production plant in Washington County. “When looking to expand our operations, the Marietta area made logical sense,” said Jerry McKee, President of McKee Materials. “Our sister company, Mckee Paving & Sealing, has been performing work in the area for several years. The opportunities and development led by the Southeastern Ohio Port Authority and OhioSE in the years to come will allow us to expand our operations for materials and installation.” The addition of the new production plant will allow the company to expand into West Virginia and create five new jobs. Maggie’s Farm and Aromatics LLC, a woman-owned company specializing in home body products, announced a significant expansion of its operations in Chillicothe, Ohio. Founded in 2020, the company is based out of the historic Union Block building in downtown Chillicothe and manufactures bath & body, home fragrances, and personal care products for wholesale, supplying over 113 boutiques nationwide and serving customers in all 50 states and Canada. To meet the growing wholesale demand, the company is revitalizing the second story of its facility, creating an additional 2,000 square feet of production, warehousing, and distribution. With this increased production capacity, they can meet the wholesale demand for e-commerce and supply their two retail operations in Downtown Chillicothe and Polaris (Columbus, Ohio). “The support we’ve received from Ross and our neighboring counties made it possible for our business to grow and try new things,” said owner Jessie Richmond. “Going to work every day in historic downtown Chillicothe and being part of the small business community here is inspiring. We want to be here for a long time, and we want to keep making space for the people in our community as an employer.” This investment is supported by a $50,000 JobsOhio Small Business Grant in collaboration with JobsOhio, OhioSE, and Greater Chillicothe & Ross County Development. 🙌 Read more: https://lnkd.in/geMgvJV5 #WeAreOhioSE #SoutheastOhio #SmallBusinessGrant #SmallBusinessOwner #EconomicDevelopment
