Nearly 2 million brain cells are lost each minute stroke treatment is delayed. We’re committed to providing expert, brain-saving stroke care and are proud to announce that five OhioHealth hospitals were recently recognized for just that. Congratulations to Riverside Methodist Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Grant Medical Center, Mansfield Hospital and Marion General Hospital for being honored by the American Heart Association's Get with the Guidelines® initiative. This designation highlights our continued commitment to life-saving heart and stroke care for patients, including meeting quality measures developed to reduce the time between a patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment. ohlth.co/4ghFiHp

OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital is transforming its surgical facilities with a $17.2 million investment. Enhancements will be seen in the surgical operating rooms, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), sterile processing area and other support spaces. “It’s a great example of OhioHealth’s continued investment in our vision for healthcare in southeastern Ohio,” said hospital president LeeAnn Lucas-Helber. “The project reflects progress toward our goals of keeping care local and creating a regional hub for specialty services. The investment in these facilities will enable us to keep more surgical care local and provide an improved experience for our surgery patients.” This project will be the largest single improvement to the hospital in the past decade. Completion is expected by January 2026. ohlth.co/3XqIgAP I #OhioHealthOBleness

This #NationalDogDay, we’d like to introduce Albie – a one-year-old golden retriever who’s has been visiting Riverside Methodist Hospital since the spring to bring smiles to our associates.   He is a certified therapy dog and joined the Alliance of Therapy Dogs last December.   Albie basks in the attention he gets from staff, and loves all the belly rubs. He's part of a growing group of therapy dogs at OhioHealth that supports associate well-being. 💙🐾

We’re proud to share a new leadership role within the organization, Chief of Musculoskeletal Services (MSK). Darrin Bright, MD, will oversee orthopedics surgery, nonsurgical orthopedics and sports medicine and primary care teams. “When you look at the MSK space within OhioHealth, we see several individual practices that came together over time gradually becoming larger and larger groups. We’ve really gotten to the point where we can no longer function independently and need to work together,” Dr. Bright said. “So I think there is a great opportunity here to really start functioning more as a cohesive group and make sure that we identify where our opportunities lie within the community and how we can better serve the needs of our community.” Read more about Dr. Bright and our MSK services: ohlth.co/3SWdApw.
