When presidential administrations change, it’s common to see significant shifts in policy via new regulations, executive orders, different interpretations of federal laws, and changes to enforcement priorities, budgeting, and staffing of federal agencies. Brian Hayes (shareholder, Washington, D.C.), Keith Kopplin (shareholder, Milwaukee), and Leah Shepherd (writer, Washington, D.C.) explore what changes employers may see in employment law in the next few years depending on whether Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump wins the election in November: https://bit.ly/4eggy0c #employmentlaw

Waves of mass layoffs during the past two years have generated a new trend: layoff influencers who use social media to vent feelings, get assistance with a job search, and find community with other laid-off workers. This trend may raise concerns for employers. William Grob (shareholder, Tampa) and Leah Shepherd (writer, Washington, D.C.) discuss considerations in a recent blog: https://bit.ly/4e9mdFu #employmentlaw

📰 From the Ogletree archives: Nearly twenty years ago, on September 1, 2004, Ogletree Deakins merged with Haynsworth Baldwin. It was the largest merger Ogletree had ever undertaken, adding 46 lawyers and new offices in Charlotte and Tampa. While most of our Haynsworth colleagues have since retired, many of these lawyers and business professionals, including Fito Agraz, Tom Bright, Howard Daniel, Lee Depret-Bixio, Bill Duda, Ignacio Garcia, Kevin Hishta, Kevin Joyner, Charles McDonald, Bernhard Mueller, Leigh Nason, Chris Near, Gus Suarez, Jeannie Allen, Sheri Gordon, Lorene Harris, Barbara Pitts, and Meredith Smith, are still at the firm. We owe all of them, past and present, a standing ovation for their contributions to our success. ⭐ #ODProud
