Their "Wetlands in a Box" initiative is bringing marshland back to the city, providing critical erosion protection and habitats for wildlife. This project complements the growing offshore wind industry, as healthy wetlands and coastal ecosystems are vital in supporting resilient shorelines and mitigating the effects of erosion—both key to enabling long-term success for wind energy infrastructure. 💻 2024 ACCELERATOR WORKSHOP TWO RECAP 💻 This week, we had the pleasure of gathering our incredible 2024 accelerator cohort companies for Workshop 2, which wrapped up today. Held virtually, the workshop focused on providing practical tools to help enhance their business operations, refine development strategies, and improve sales processes. We’re excited to see how these connections and insights will drive their businesses forward. 📈📝 🚀DAY 1️⃣  - Matt O'Rourke from KJP Group shared his expertise on pricing strategies, diving deep into the decisions necessary for setting the right price and exploring various pricing models.  - David (DJ) Cotlow from Equinor Procurement Team provided invaluable insights into contracting in the OSW US market, breaking down the typical contract structures and supplier selection processes.  -Our great friends from Rho, as Tommy McNulty shared his expertise on building sales teams in the US, covering hiring strategies, compensation structures, and the creation of a performance-driven culture. - Parker Malone from Equinor Ventures took the stage to guide us through the essentials of crafting a compelling investor pitch, highlighting key numbers to include and best practices in negotiation.  - The day concluded with a fantastic peer-to-peer pitch feedback session 👥, where each of our six amazing cohort companies: Sensatek Propulsion Technology, Inc, Indeximate, Triton Anchor, Claviate, Boxkite, Pliant Energy Systems Inc—had the opportunity to present and share their insights. It was truly inspiring to witness the support among these innovators! 🚀DAY 2️⃣  - The second day began with an expert session on branding and media awareness, led by Philip Chinitz from BerlinRosen, who shared strategies for startups to effectively use social media, press releases, and media outreach to get noticed.  - Lindsay Siegel guided us through the DEI Playbook, discussing how to incorporate DEI in startup culture, hiring practices, and product development—a crucial conversation for building inclusive and sustainable businesses.  - The morning continued with Frank Paz from Goodwin, who provided an overview of legal foundations for startups, including US incorporations, IP rights, and other essential legal considerations.  - To round off the sessions, Akshay Shrimanker, CPA from SHAY CPA P.C. presented an accounting overview for startups, focusing on the specific needs of EU companies operating in the US, corporate taxes, and preparation for investors. - The workshop wrapped up with individual office hours with lawyers and accountants, offering personalized support to address the specific needs of our cohort companies. 💚🖱️This year's virtual workshop was packed with valuable insights, and we can’t wait to see our cohort again in October! 🦪GIVING BACK WITH THE BILLION OYSTER PROJECT 🦪 Last week, our Community Manager, Anna Yum joined the local NYC Equinor team for a fun-filled volunteer day with the Billion Oyster Project on Governors Island! 🚤 We hopped on the ferry and jumped right into action, getting hands-on with the marine ecosystem and discovering how even the smallest actions can create big waves of change on climate resilience. Key Learnings From These Natural Superheroes: 🌊 Oyster reefs are natural surge storm barriers, protecting our shorelines by preventing erosion and reducing flooding. 🌱Just one adult oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of water a day, purifying it's surroundings and providing vibrant habitats for hundreds of marines species in NYC’s waterways.
