Ochsner Health's strategic partnership with myLaurel™ is bringing care directly to patients' homes, enhancing outcomes and reducing hospital stays. By offering care at home, we're making it easier for patients to get the treatment they need while staying comfortable.   Patients receive care at home with the help of a virtual physician leading an in-home care team. Additionally, a registered nurse conducts seven-day remote check-ins, coordinating treatment plans with the Ochsner team and the patient's primary care physician to minimize care gaps.   Logan Davies, MD, medical director of hospital access and throughput at Ochsner Medical Center-New Orleans, credits myLaurel's Acute Care at Home service for the hospital's ability to discharge patients more timely and safely transition them to care at home. The University of Queensland Medical School - Ochsner Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) Executive Board secured third place for its research poster at the 24th Annual Southern Hospital Medicine Conference, held from Sept. 26 to 28 in New Orleans. Their award-winning poster, "Focused Peer-Led Training for Medical Students to Address Social Determinants of Health in the Hospital," represents a key element of an ongoing research initiative. This project will help future doctors learn how income and education affect people's health and encourage them to get involved with the community. The Executive Board's abstract and poster have been selected for presentation at an upcoming research showcase in Brisbane, Australia. GHHS members set the standard for compassionate leadership in medicine. With over 180 groups in medical schools and programs and over 45,000 members, GHHS keeps growing and making a difference in the medical field.
