On July 3, 2024 Obsidian Solutions Group, Training Enterprise Services Account Executives’ David “Sluggo” Suggs and Jason Gillespie attended the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center (MCMWTC) Change of Command in Bridgeport California. The Mountain Warfare Training Center was first established in 1951 in response to the hard lessons of the Korean War, the MCMWTC continues to train Marines and other U.S. service personnel, allies and partners in the searing summer heat and the bitter cold of winter. Students learn how to survive, move, fight and win our Nations battles in the most challenging conditions and terrain. Congratulations to Col Ron Storer in the completion of his command tour and we wish him well in his future assignment as the Marine Air Ground Task Force – Training Command Chief of Staff.  Picture 1: Col Ron Storer, Commanding Officer Mountain Warfare Training Center, Strategic Account Executive David “Sluggo” Suggs, MajGen Sparky Renforth United States Marine Corps (retired), Account Executive Jason Gillespie, MajGen Thomas Savage, Commanding General Marine Air Ground Task Force – Training Command Picture 2: Account Executive Jason Gillespie, MajGen Thomas Savage, Commanding General Marine Air Ground Task Force – Training Command Picture 3: SgtMaj Ryan Meltesen, Command Senior Enlisted Leader Marine Air Ground Task Force – Training Command, Account Executive Jason Gillespie, SgtMaj Wells Picture 4: Account Executive Jason Gillespie, Col Dan Wittnam, Director Marine Corps Integration Division, Strategic Account Executive David “Sluggo” Suggs Picture 5: Gunner Mike Carmody, Strategic Account Executive David “Sluggo” Suggs, Account Executive Jason Gillespie Picture 6: Account Executive Jason Gillespie, General John Abizaid United States Army (retired), Strategic Account Executive David “Sluggo” Suggs #ChangeofCommand #USMarines #MarineCorps #TES #TeamOSG #FederalContracting

On June 19th, 1865, Army Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas to announce the end of slavery, more than 2 and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.   Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day and Emancipation Day, became the 11th federally recognized holiday in 2021 and commemorates the victory over the institution of slavery and the beginning of the fulfillment of America's promise of freedom and liberty to all. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #Emancipation #TeamOSG #FederalContracting

Today marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the largest land, sea and air invasion ever assembled, and one of the most famous single days in all of human history. Approximately 16.4 million Americans served in the military during WWII, fewer than 100,000 are still alive today. On this day, veterans from over the world will join dignitaries and heads of state to commemorate the approximately 160,000 Allied troops who, eight decades ago, stormed the beaches of Normandy. The 80th anniversary will be a memorably powerful event, as it may be the last chance for D-Day veterans to return to the beaches where they landed, where they fought and alongside their brothers-in-arms.  “The eyes of the world are upon you. The hope and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you…you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world. Your task will not be an easy one…The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together…We will accept nothing less than full victory!” -Gen. Eisenhower (Order of the Day Address) #DDay #WWII #Normandy #veterans #remembrance #celebration #TeamOSG #federalcontracting
