DVT and I knew that my values are aligned with Obol team right away! 🎤 In what ways do you feel your work contributes to Obol’s success? As a full-stack engineer working on the Launchpad and SDK, I help build the visual access point to our software, which improves adoption—key to Obol’s growth. 🎤 How do you maintain work-life balance in your role and what aspects of Obol’s culture do you appreciate the most? I make time for my personal life when needed and catch up when I can. Obol means a lot to me, so my relationship with work feels different—even when there’s pressure or tight deadlines. I truly value the trust, the support for continuous learning, and the chance to grow by taking on different roles. I also get a lot out of the knowledge-sharing sessions, whether they’re about the protocol, MCPs, or Beam Chain challenges—I really appreciate that. 🎤 How would you describe the technical level of collaboration within your team? It’s a very collaborative team—we openly challenge ideas and share knowledge about both code and the product. Everyone brings a unique focus: some prioritize readability, others performance, and some best practices. That mix helps us constantly improve our work. Get to know our Technical team: Meet Kaloyan Tanev our Protocol Tech Lead! 😎 Learn more about his experience at Obol, his role and what it's like to be part of our team. 🎤 What initially attracted you to apply for your current role at Obol? I've spent my whole career in the blockchain and focused a lot on multi-party computation systems for private key material custody. Needless to say, I've always had a security-first approach at my work. And that's exactly what drew my attention at Obol, the way Charon can at the same time reduce risk for validators and make use of key management solutions is really neat.2. 🎤 In what ways do you feel your work contributes to Obol’s success? Leading the development of Charon is quite demanding job most of the time, but that's why it is exciting! It consists of constantly balancing out performance, user experience and composability. Charon being a middleware has amazing perks, but it comes with its struggles as well, like keeping it intact with all the different vendors out there for both beacon nodes and validator clients. Having the opportunity to contribute to such an amazing product that plugs in cutting edge peer-to-peer technology inside the Ethereum ecosystem is a great honour. 🎤How do you maintain work-life balance in your role and what aspects of Obol’s culture do you appreciate the most? Having flexible working hours really helps with that. As a person that enjoys a lot outdoor sports like road cycling and hiking, being able to start a work a bit late and do a morning ride is amazing. Moreover, the remote work helps immensely with living in one country and being able to spend time with family and friends that live in another. 🎤How would you describe the technical level of collaboration within your team? As technical as it could get I would say. We often discuss performance and security, which are of utmost importance for us. We try to accommodate as much as possible our users' demands, but never with the expense of the performance and security.
