Congratulations to New York Road Runners on their announcement to go net-zero by 2040! 🙌 Not only has NYRR been the first race to supply our EcoRain® ponchos to their volunteers & event staff, but now they will also be the FIRST Abbott World Marathon Major to have a race entry method tied to its sustainability efforts. We are so excited for the amazing initiatives NYRR has ahead and we are proud to be working with such an innovative and audacious group. Check out the article for all the other cool initiatives NYRR has. Last May, the running community united for the Run With Maud 5K Run/Walk to honor Ahmaud Arbery and support the Ahmaud Arbery Foundation. This year, the Run With Maud 5K returns on August 24 with a major change: it’s now a virtual event. Runners worldwide can participate, honor Ahmaud, and support the Foundation from anywhere. Register now and get a commemorative "Run With Maud" shirt. All proceeds benefit the Ahmaud Arbery Foundation's mental health resources for Black boys. Join us and show your support on social media with #RunWithMaud. Details on meet-up locations and group runs will be shared closer to the event. June 23 marks the 52nd anniversary of the passage of Title IX. At the 2024 #MastercardMini10K, we chatted with 26-time finisher Ulrike Klopfer about the progression of this race from when it first began in 1972 to what it is now in 2024. As we commemorate the anniversary of Title IX, let’s celebrate how far we’ve come while acknowledging that we’re not done yet.💙💪

Today, we celebrate and honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the historical event of 1865 in Galveston, Texas which declared the ending of slavery in the US, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued to abolish slavery. Wherever you are, we hope you’ll connect with local organizations, as well as running and cultural groups, to find meaningful and inspiring ways to honor this day.

We can’t do what we do without our partners. 🤝 The latest episode of NYRR Set the Pace presented by Peloton Interactive is a special live recording from our Partner Forum, our yearly event where we invite all partners to New York to learn about our future organizational plans, goals, and insight into the year’s #TCSNYCMarathon. The conversation features representatives from three of NYRR’s key partners: Mastercard, New Balance, and Citizens. Rob Simmelkjaer sits down with Anne Valentzas, Senior Vice President, Consumer Marketing and Sponsorships for Mastercard, Tom Carleo, Vice President Running, North America, New Balance, and Denise Wolffs, Senior Vice President, Director of Sponsorships, Experiential Marketing & Internal Events for Citizens to learn what makes them so passionate about working with us, supporting the running community, and helping us bring to life the TCS New York City Marathon.
