Great to see Accenture's Nellie Borrero at her alma mater, delivering advice to students on how to show up each day!
We were so thrilled and honored to welcome back Nellie Borrero (Class of '95), Managing Director - Global Inclusion & Diversity Senior Strategic Advisor of Accenture to our campus! We're Lehman Poud! Nellie inspired our students by sharing her career journey and insights from her book ("Unwavering: Rejecting Bias, Igniting Change, Celebrating Inclusion"). We’re especially grateful for the time she spent with our student club leaders for ALPFA Lehman, NABA Lehman College, Lehman Financial Learning Group, Lehman Sports Management Club, and for offering advice and words of encouragement that left our students feeling empowered with lasting impact -- "choose to learn, show up each day with empathy, advocate for inclusion, and claim your earned space"! A special thank you to Damian Rivera and ALPFA Inc - Association of Latino Professionals For America for their incredible support in providing five students with an all-expenses-paid trip to the upcoming ALPFA convention in Vegas—an amazing reflection of Nellie Borrero's dedication and support to empowering future leaders and the work of ALPFA Inc - Association of Latino Professionals For America #Inspiration #Leadership #StudentSuccess #LehmanCollege #LehmanProud Lehman College Dene T. In October, I had the incredible opportunity to attend a panel discussion at Lehman College, featuring none other than Peter T. Grauer, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Bloomberg. His story and insights were nothing short of inspiring. Peter is a phenomenal speaker whose wisdom on leadership and resilience resonated deeply with me. His ability to connect with the audience and share his journey with such honesty is truly underrated, and I am grateful to have gained invaluable lessons that will guide me in my career. Special thanks to The Lehman College School of Business, New York Jobs CEO Council and Lehman Financial Learning Group for making this event possible. Their commitment to creating opportunities for students like me is invaluable. I’d like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Alexis Polanco, MS, who attended the event and graciously shared her insights. Alexis exemplifies the true power of connection and mentorship. Her connections with data analyst , community impact, and fostering meaningful relationships is genuinely inspiring. As a recruiter at Bloomberg, she sets a standard of excellence and serves as a reminder of why I value connecting with passionate professionals. Though we didn’t capture a photo together, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to connect and look forward to learning from her as I continue my journey. Thank you to everyone who attended, and I look forward to more opportunities to connect and grow. #NewYorkJobsCEOCouncil #Bloomberg #LehmanCollege #CUNY #Inspiration #DataAnalytics #CareerJourney #CommunityImpact #Internships #LehmanFLG #LehmanStudents #Finance
