Working together we can solve hunger.

About us

The New Hampshire Food Bank serves as the only food bank in the state, working to provide nutritious food and resources to the hundreds of thousands of New Hampshire residents that are food insecure. The Food Bank supplies millions of pounds of food annually to more than 400 partner agencies, including food pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, children’s programs, senior centers and more. In turn, these agencies provide hunger relief to those suffering from food insecurity throughout the state. While continuing to distribute nutritious food throughout the state to our partner agencies that help our neighbors in need, the New Hampshire Food Bank has evolved as an organization. Over the years, we have worked towards finding ways to fight the root causes of hunger through innovative programming aimed at empowering people to learn new skills, enabling them to become more self-sufficient and improve their quality of life.

  • Last week, Three Maples Renaissance Corps board president, Andrew, stopped by the Food Bank to deliver a donation from The New Hampshire Renaissance Faire’s 20th Anniversary event this past May that left us speechless! This year’s donation will allow the NH Food Bank to provide approximately 177,446 meals for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. We are incredibly grateful to the NH Renaissance Faire, the 3MRC board, and all those who attended this year’s event, for their continued support and generosity – thank you! We look forward to seeing everyone next year!

#USI GIVES BACK! All summer long, our office has been donating time to local non-profits as part of our company-wide #USIGivesBack initiative. Yesterday, we spent some time in the #prepkitchen at the New Hampshire Food Bank. As we were chopping and cutting vegetables, 🥕 🫑 🥒 Food Bank #ChefCarlos and #ChefJason enlightened us on exactly what our prep was for: —these fresh veggies are supplied to them by a local farm —they will be used to make meals of all kinds such as : Shepard Pie🥧 , Soup 🍜, and Casseroles. —the meals will be distributed 🚘 to every corner of the great state of New Hampshire. —a variety of shelters and sites will be the recipients of the meals 🥘 —the meals will serve all ages through the state 🧒 👵 This is not the first time I’ve donated time ⏰ to a meal service and it won’t be the last. It’s a humbling experience and sadly, a necessary one. I’m grateful to work for a company that emphasizes giving back, and thus, gives us the time to do it. “Because no one should ever go hungry.” #worththetime #everytime #hairnetsandballcaps

  • Thank you to volunteers from Eversource Energy NH who joined us last week in our Culinary Job Training Kitchen where they helped prep meals for our partner agencies!

  • We had to thank you, again because we just can’t thank you enough for your support! So far, this NH Gives you helped us raise $22,060 (more than $18,885 of which was in just 24-hours!) and includes a Power of Community Prize (2nd Place - Large Organizations) which recognized that the Food Bank had second largest number of unique online donors between 5pm on June 11 and 5pm on June 12 in our category! Amazing! Your generosity will help us continue to expand our NH Feeding NH program, which is working to ensure that our neighbors experiencing hunger throughout the state have access to fresh, nourishing produce, protein and dairy! The NH Gives site remains open for donations through this Friday so if you didn’t have a chance and want to support our NH Feeding NH program, there’s still time: https://lnkd.in/ehZ3xTBV We can’t wait until next year, but until then – know that your support is so incredibly appreciated. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without you! #nhgives

  • THANK YOU! What a day - another NH Gives is in the books! We are humbled by your generosity and support, both during events like #NHGives – and each and every day. Because of you, we are able to further our mission of ending hunger here in NH, which includes funding programs, like NH Feeding NH, which works to ensure all Granite Staters have access to fresh, nutritious food. We cannot thank you enough. The site will stay open through Friday, so if you hadn’t had your chance to give yet – you can still support our NH Feeding NH program at https://lnkd.in/ehZ3xTBV And, lastly, thank you for sticking with us! We’ll be back to our regular posting schedule tomorrow.

  • Food is so much more than a meal. In addition to its goals of providing NH-grown foods to those experiencing hunger throughout NH, NH Feeding NH is working to connect our partner agencies who serve populations seeking specific culturally preferred foods with local farmers growing those items. Your support today helps us continue to grow and expand this work: https://lnkd.in/ehZ3xTBV In 2023, NH Feeding NH piloted a Culturally Preferred Foods program in partnership with Fresh Start Farms, a local collective of refugee and immigrant farmers to source various types of produce like amaranth, pumpkin leaves, sorrel, daikon, African corn and eggplant, shell beans, sweet potatoes, cabbage and more! Not only does this program help provide increased access to fresh, nutritious foods and support local farms, it allows our partner agencies to provide the foods that those they serve are accustomed to in an environment that is inclusive to all. "One of our shoppers is usually fairly withdrawn. We showed her the pumpkin vines [from NH Food Bank’s NH Feeding NH partnership with Fresh Start Farms] and she almost jumped through the roof with excitement! The African eggplant we received generated just as much enthusiasm! The next time she came in, she was smiling and happy to see more foods amaranth and shell beans!” Nashua Soup Kitchen, NH Food Bank partner agency Give today: https://lnkd.in/ehZ3xTBV

  • When you support the NH Food Bank’s NH Feeding NH program this NH Gives not only are you helping us provide local, nutritious foods for our neighbors experiencing hunger, but you are also helping support NH farms and our local food systems! https://lnkd.in/ehZ3xTBV During the 2023 season, NH Food Bank partner agencies benefited from the purchase of more than 500,000 pounds of local foods from hundreds of NH farms statewide! These purchases directly benefited our friends and neighbors experiencing hunger in all corners of the Granite State and infused more than $450,000 into NH’s economy.
