Working together we can solve hunger.

About us

The New Hampshire Food Bank serves as the only food bank in the state, working to provide nutritious food and resources to the hundreds of thousands of New Hampshire residents that are food insecure. The Food Bank supplies millions of pounds of food annually to more than 400 partner agencies, including food pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, children’s programs, senior centers and more. In turn, these agencies provide hunger relief to those suffering from food insecurity throughout the state. While continuing to distribute nutritious food throughout the state to our partner agencies that help our neighbors in need, the New Hampshire Food Bank has evolved as an organization. Over the years, we have worked towards finding ways to fight the root causes of hunger through innovative programming aimed at empowering people to learn new skills, enabling them to become more self-sufficient and improve their quality of life.

  • We had to thank you, again because we just can’t thank you enough for your support! So far, this NH Gives you helped us raise $22,060 (more than $18,885 of which was in just 24-hours!) and includes a Power of Community Prize (2nd Place - Large Organizations) which recognized that the Food Bank had second largest number of unique online donors between 5pm on June 11 and 5pm on June 12 in our category! Amazing! Your generosity will help us continue to expand our NH Feeding NH program, which is working to ensure that our neighbors experiencing hunger throughout the state have access to fresh, nourishing produce, protein and dairy! The NH Gives site remains open for donations through this Friday so if you didn’t have a chance and want to support our NH Feeding NH program, there’s still time: https://lnkd.in/ehZ3xTBV We can’t wait until next year, but until then – know that your support is so incredibly appreciated. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without you! #nhgives

  • Food is so much more than a meal. In addition to its goals of providing NH-grown foods to those experiencing hunger throughout NH, NH Feeding NH is working to connect our partner agencies who serve populations seeking specific culturally preferred foods with local farmers growing those items. Your support today helps us continue to grow and expand this work: https://lnkd.in/ehZ3xTBV In 2023, NH Feeding NH piloted a Culturally Preferred Foods program in partnership with Fresh Start Farms, a local collective of refugee and immigrant farmers to source various types of produce like amaranth, pumpkin leaves, sorrel, daikon, African corn and eggplant, shell beans, sweet potatoes, cabbage and more! Not only does this program help provide increased access to fresh, nutritious foods and support local farms, it allows our partner agencies to provide the foods that those they serve are accustomed to in an environment that is inclusive to all. "One of our shoppers is usually fairly withdrawn. We showed her the pumpkin vines [from NH Food Bank’s NH Feeding NH partnership with Fresh Start Farms] and she almost jumped through the roof with excitement! The African eggplant we received generated just as much enthusiasm! The next time she came in, she was smiling and happy to see more foods amaranth and shell beans!” Nashua Soup Kitchen, NH Food Bank partner agency Give today: https://lnkd.in/ehZ3xTBV

These purchases directly benefited our friends and neighbors experiencing hunger in all corners of the Granite State and infused more than $450,000 into NH’s economy. • We can’t believe we’re just ONE WEEK away from NH Gives! Set a reminder so you don't miss this 24-hour, statewide celebration of giving that kicks off at 5pm on Tuesday, June 11. NH Food Bank is the only food bank in NH, and your support during #NHGives helps make a meaningful impact in the lives of our friends and neighbors experiencing hunger. Your NH Gives gift will provide critical funding to one of our programs - NH Feeding NH. This program directly supports the purchase of NH-grown fruits, vegetables, dairy and protein from NH farms to feed those in need. We’re so grateful for your support!

    • Greens with a pop up reminder that says: One week until NH Gives! Your support of the NH Food Bank during NH Gives provides critical support for our NH Feeding NH Program. Set Reminder for June 11 & 12
  • Feeding America has just released its latest Map the Meal Gap study, which reports food insecurity rates across the U.S. and provides Partner Food Banks, like us, with valuable insight into how hunger is impacting our communities. In this most recent release, we’ve seen a marked increase in food insecurity rates statewide – with approximately 1 in 10 NH residents experiencing food insecurity. The percentages are higher for NH’s children with approximately 1 in 7 experiencing food insecurity. These statistics reinforce what we’ve already seen statewide: an increase in food orders from partner agencies at our warehouse as well as increased participation at our mobile food pantry distributions; we've also heard directly from our partner agencies – more of our neighbors are experiencing hunger and reaching out for support. This makes the work of the NH Food Bank all the more critical and we could not do what we do without your generous support. For that, we are truly grateful. • Last month, we were excited to see the Heritage Helps van roll up to the Food Bank with a delivery of food donations – 212 pounds of food in total! Their donation will provide approximately 177 meals to our neighbors experiencing hunger throughout the Granite State. We’re grateful to Heritage Home Service and Heritage Helps Foundation for their continued and longtime support of the New Hampshire Food Bank and commitment to giving back to the communities they serve.
