At NAVA, healthy design is at our core, and we do all we can to ensure we stay at the forefront of innovation and action on this vital topic. Brian Levitt recently contributed his insights on health-prioritized development and how NAVA’s Lakehouse embodies these wellness elements to Colorado Real Estate Journal’s Multifamily Properties Quarterly. “While our company was founded on the premise of developing properties that have a positive impact on its residents and surrounding community, no one could have predicted the prescient nature of the decisions made when Lakehouse – a 12-story, 196-unit community in Denver’s Sloan’s Lake neighborhood and pilot project for the WELL Building Standard – opened in March 2020. The forward-thinking decisions that were conceived working with the International WELL Building Institute and utilizing the WELL Building Standard are what helped enable us to deliver the right health-focused product in Colorado, in the right place next to Sloan’s Lake and at the right time, just when the global pandemic arrived.” Read the full article.

NAVA’s Brian Levitt has been a steward of healthy real estate since he first attended the WELL Summit in 2014. In addition to prioritizing the incorporation of WELL best practices into the development of Lakehouse, NAVA took it a step further and founded Realwell, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit bridging the gap between health and real estate professionals, designers and builders. Their mission: enhancing the physical and mental well-being of building occupants. 🏆 With NAVA's commitment to sustainable, health-focused development, pursuing WELL Certification for Lakehouse was a natural fit! Lakehouse achieved its WELL Gold Certification in September 2021. Read more about Lakehouse’s WELL journey in the recent IWBI Case Study: https://lnkd.in/gzkv4-kK #WhatsNext

NAVA's intention was to build a healthy community from the inside out – to provide the infrastructure and programming that would hopefully enable residents to live more mindfully. 🏡 Hearing the impact that Lakehouse has had on people's lives drives our mission to develop more healthy places: "The whole wellness aspect of Lakehouse was the biggest draw." "There are so many moments of joy for me living in this community." "The social support and good community are something I've never experienced anywhere.” To learn more about the Colorado State University Case Study and how healthy design and programming at Lakehouse has impacted the residents, read the study:

🌿 Health and wellness-focused development is more than just a trend; it's an economic powerhouse! 💰 Did you know? A 10% boost in human health brings an estimated $2.5 million in benefits, while a 10% cut in energy spending yields $20,000. The well-being of our world is an investment, and at NAVA, we’re all in.
