We are happy to announce the opening of a 7-MW #communitysolar project located on a remediation site in Sanford, #Maine. We worked with Walden Renewables to finalize this innovative project which demonstrates how compromised land can be transformed into a productive source of #cleanenergy and driving economic growth. “We are thrilled to partner with the Walden team and the City of Sanford to find a creative solution for repurposing the contaminated site into a source of clean energy for the local community,” said Laura York, VP of structuring at Nautilus Solar. Meet Rodney Leadingham, MBA, LSS, CeM, Digital Marketing Manager. 👋 We're highlighting him this month as part of our #employee spotlight series. Rodney is responsible for leading the development, execution, and on-going optimization of our digital #marketing strategy that includes SEO, PPC, Social Ads, and website. It also includes TV, radio, direct mail, and more. He has a Bachelor's of Science in Accounting from High Point University and a Master's Degree in International Business Management from Concordia University-Wisconsin. Here are some things Rodney enjoys when he's not working: - He loves traveling in general but more so with his wife. International travel to someplace new is the best. (Bonus if it contains an educational/historical component for learning.) - He enjoys woodworking that more recently includes medium and smaller projects such as beds, outdoor TV boxes, cooler stands, and cutting boards. - His favorite movie used to be Star Wars but Lord of the Rings overtook it recently. We are incredibly lucky to have Rodney on our team!

We've all heard critics say that #communitysolar destroys valuable #farmland. Well, we’re clearing up this common myth in our newest video and showing how community solar can play an important role in improving communities and land. #solarenergy

This week, we held a #communitysolar farm tour at one of our farms in Standish, Maine. We teamed up with our partners at Maine Community Solar to bring subscribers on an exclusive behind the scenes tour of our #solar farm. We love giving our subscribers the opportunity to see up close and personal how their decision to switch to #renewablenergy is really benefiting the community and the planet. Also, a big shout out to our partners at Maine Mariners for coming out to learn more as well!

Thanks Solar Power World for covering this exciting milestone for Nautilus Solar Energy! Our 2.8-MW Altamont #communitysolar project at the former Schenectady Army Depot is the first of its kind on a formerly used defense site in the U.S. Despite the challenges of building on capped #landfills, we've successfully transformed a restricted site into a #sustainable energy source for the community. “We had to really run down every potential issue in advance to make sure that we’d planned for it, priced for it, protected against it, mitigated it, so that it would be a smooth construction and then operation going forward,” Senior Manager of Structuring Rupal Bain said. This project showcases our commitment to innovative solutions and highlights the potential for repurposing similar lands across the country. We are proud to lead the way in making the impossible possible! Billy Ludt Steve Dzubak

Last week, we put on our first #ClimateWeekNYC event with The Green Journey! We celebrated the completion of Megan Claire Routbort & Thomas Polo's solar-powered trike journey across America. Everyone in attendance had the chance to sit in and test out the trikes and hear some highlights from their months long journey. Overall, it was an awesome event and we learned a ton! #solar #climatechange
