What a fantastic day yesterday at our Moveworks.local Boston event! The perfect fall weather and blue skies set the stage for a great time at the Sam Adams Downtown Tap Room. We had lots of engagement around our customer panel, and it was a pleasure hearing from Gregory Disco, the CIO at The Boston Beer Company, along with Michael Mun and Maureen Benczo. Their insights into leveraging AI to drive business productivity were invaluable. Grateful for everyone who attended and made this event a success—looking forward to continuing the conversation! Excited that Moveworks will be at our Gartner IT Symposium in Orlando next week! Moveworks is the universal AI copilot for search and automation across all business applications. Moveworks Copilot is powered by an industry-leading Reasoning Engine that uses a combination of language models to understand employee queries, then build and execute multi-step plans that achieve them. It does this by linking into systems with integrations that turn natural language into automations. Brands like Databricks, Broadcom, and Palo Alto Networks trust Moveworks to eliminate repetitive support issues, deliver instant knowledge, and empower employees to work faster across applications. Make sure to connect with the team onsite at booth #1033 & don't miss the opportunity to see the business outcomes they're delivering in their session on Wednesday at 12:05pm! #GartnerSYM #AI #AIagent #AgenticAI Kelly Nyblom

Why is RAG not enough? If you'd like to dive into this topic, Varun Singh, our President and Co-founder, has an insightful post on this subject that has sparked an interesting conversation. 👇

RAG is a "False Summit" in Generative AI. That's what we felt at Moveworks in summer of 2023. Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) often felt like a major breakthrough—a seeming summit of what these models can achieve. It was a powerful technique that married vector search and summarization, leveraging vast repositories of data to retrieve and generate coherent, context-rich responses. But much like the false summits that deceive climbers into thinking they’ve reached the peak, RAG gave many a false sense of arrival. When we first encountered its capabilities, it seemed like we’d hit the top. LLMs retrieves and integrated data from vast sources, producing answers that felt comprehensive. It felt like we’d achieved the pinnacle. Yet, once you stand on this ledge, you quickly realize that the true summit is still ahead. What’s beyond RAG is the challenge of reasoning. Summarization and vector search are merely tools—important ones—but they fall short of solving the deeper challenges of reasoning and understanding complex contexts. Reasoning, not retrieval, is the summit we’ve been climbing toward all along. It’s the layer of intelligence that enables AI to go beyond finding information and helps it truly comprehend, analyze, and solve nuanced problems. RAG might get you higher up the mountain, but reasoning is the peak, and that’s where the real value lies. The path from RAG to true reasoning-based generative AI is the next big climb. And that’s where the future breakthroughs will happen.

Last week I joined Varun Singh and the Moveworks team at the NYSE for the unveiling of the new Agentic Automation Engine. A platform that will massively improve developer experience for deploying AI agents across their organizations. With the assistance of the amazing product team, we were able to deploy a Workday agent to look up PTO balances in under 20 minutes! Shoutout to Lucas Rollo and Ajay Merchia for the amazing event. I had a chance to share my thoughts on the new Agentic Automation Engine ⬇️ ⬇️

😭I am not crying, you are crying! Last week, we introduced the new Agentic Automation Engine to developers, and they got to get their hands on it at the NYSE - Moveworks hackathon. Over a matter of hours, dozens of developers jammed and built dozens of AI agents. 📅 Outlook Calendar agents that can book meetings 🖋️ Mermaid Chart Diagramming agents that create and store flowcharts 🏖️Workday agents that can book time off 📹Zoom agents that can create zoom rooms ⚖️Finance agents that can find and update contract details 🎫Atlassian Jira agents to create and manage tickets 🛂Microsoft Entra agents that manage security group memberships 🆘ServiceNow agents that clean up ticket descriptions to make them easier to analyze 👗Research agents that help find fashion trends & population statistics We even got some of them to talk about their experience with the new engine. What they had to say moved some of us to tears. Over the last 18 months, we have put a lot of time and effort - thoughtfully assembling the new automation engine from the ground up. Something that was built for Language to API automation, not for the business orchestration world of the past. We often imagined what we wanted developers and technical leaders to say. Their testimonials far exceeded our imagination! Thank you to everyone who came and built AI agents with us. You’ve given us a lot of motivation to double down and keep building till every employee has a work assistant that help them find answers, automate tasks, and generate new insight. Thank you especially to James Diaz, Karthik Ramadossand many others (videos coming!) who shared their views with us. It's safe to say ChatGPT changed the game when it hit the scene. Suddenly, we had a whole new way to use genAI to rethink how we work. Fast-forward to today, turning to ChatGPT for a quick productivity boost has become second nature for many of us. So on that note, let’s talk about AI summarization for a minute. We’ve recently supercharged our Copilot with Brief Me, but we still get asked how it’s different from ChatGPT. Luckily, we covered this in our recent Brief Me webinar. In case you missed it, here’s a clip from our recent webinar where we break down 4 key differences between us and them. Intrigued? Watch the full replay here for an even deeper dive! https://lnkd.in/eftX4gQy
