  • MCIU’s Environmental Mobile Unit (EMU) made an exciting stop at our Discovery Center horticulture lab, giving students in our Transition Program the chance to embrace the power of outdoor learning! EMU facilitator and instructor Leigh Kieser guided students in observing and documenting the natural world, introduced them to fascinating biological specimens, and led hands-on activities like collecting and analyzing soil samples from the Discovery Center grounds. A big thank you to the EMU team for delivering such a fun and educational experience!

The event centered around reflecting on our achievements, identifying areas for improvement, and setting goals for the future. We proudly recognized students for their outstanding accomplishments, including honor roll, perfect attendance, Students of the Month, and the Kind Citizen Award. A special shoutout goes to Mrs. Knox for being named Staff Member of the Month—congratulations! Here's to a fantastic second quarter! 🥞🎉

All proceeds raised will go directly towards supporting educational enhancements throughout Montgomery County. Stay tuned for more exciting events and ways to get involved.
