With the help of our $75,000 capacity-building grant, BLMA students tackled dual enrollment courses at Marquette University and gained invaluable experiences at events like Data Day and Black Lives Matter Week of Action. BLMA staff also advanced their skills at the Black Male Summit and began exploring the creation of a teacher pipeline program. Success for every child, in every school, cradle to career.
About us
Milwaukee Succeeds was founded on a simple idea: The City of Milwaukee can improve educational outcomes for every child, in every school, when we move forward together. Milwaukee Succeeds is an education initiative and an expansive community partnership working with nearly 300 organizations to come together and improve educational outcomes for every child, in every school, cradle to career. We do this by centering our work around a shared community vision defined by four community goals: kindergarten readiness, school success, college and career readiness, and social emotional learning. Then, we collectively identify best-practices and make data-driven decisions in order to expand wants already working and to achieve equitable continuous improvement.

Malaika Early Learning Center, a longtime member of our ECE Coalition, recently kicked off the first day of school in style! Their tradition of drumming welcomes students while helping generate neuronal connections in all parts of the brain! Milwaukee Succeeds staff were on-hand to help “drum in” the new school year.

When affordable, quality early childhood education is out of reach, women often bear the brunt of caregiving responsibilities, derailing their careers and limiting financial independence. Investing in ECE is essential—not just for our children but for the economic empowerment of women across our state. https://lnkd.in/geQY6ReK

Last year, our ECE Ambassadors put in an AMAZING amount of work to spread the word about Milwaukee Succeeds and the importance of ECE. And this year has been just as busy – if not more! https://lnkd.in/gh2_EPj9
