Today marks a significant milestone for Micron – the opening of our Early Learning Center in Boise! 🎉 We're proud to be making strides in our commitment to remove barriers to workforce entry by providing onsite childcare to our employees that is accessible, affordable and reliable. Thank you to our Chief People Officer April Arnzen, Executive Vice President of Technology and Products Scott DeBoer, Idaho Governor Brad Little, Boise Mayor Lauren McLean, Director Shalanda Young, YMCA of Treasure Valley Executive Director David Duro and all who joined us at today's event.
I am excited to share that today we held our official Early Learning Center Ribbon Cutting ceremony in Boise, Idaho. Micron Technology’s new on-site #childcare facility will welcome 124 children this fall who will receive expert care from our partners at the Treasure Valley Family YMCA. We are so pleased to provide our busy Micron parents this important benefit while helping to alleviate the demand on available childcare spaces in Idaho’s Treasure Valley. Balancing work and family commitments can be a significant challenge for working parents and caregivers with young children – especially women. That’s why I am so proud that Micron has made this strong commitment to support our Micron parents with quality, affordable childcare. As a mom of three kids, I know first-hand how important it is to know that your children are nurtured, safe and receiving the best care. Today’s announcement is an exciting step in our efforts to help remove barriers to workforce entry and re-entry and celebrates the progress we’ve made to open career opportunities for even more people. I’d like to thank Idaho Governor Brad Little, Boise Mayor Lauren Mclean, and David Duro, President and CEO, YMCA of the Treasure Valley, for joining us today for this important event. Together, we are providing quality early learning opportunities for our Micron parents and their young children.
