Georgetown University’s Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship wanted to reimagine its learning spaces through collaborative technology. Pavion—an integration firm with 70 locations serving 23 countries—delivered on that promise with a dual-display setup that could support remote participants on one screen and presentation material on the other. Pavion used 4K interactive LG Electronics touchscreens, Logitech cameras, Biamp ceiling speakers and microphone arrays, and four Mersive Solstice Pods to make it all happen. School is out, but Solstice is in as #SummerOfSolstice continues! Newcastle University’s engineering school was split across several buildings on campus. The Stephenson building was redeveloped to bring all these arms together into one central location. The need for small-group collaboration was a driving factor of both space and AV system design. For example, the lecture theaters were designed with collaborative tables and groups of no more than eight people. Mersive Solstice Pods are used for wireless casting in the lecture theater; for wireless presentation in the three computer clusters; and for wireless sharing in the meeting rooms.
