MercyFirst celebrated our new and newly renovated Staten Island Enhanced Family Foster Care (EFFC) Office with a Ribbon Cutting Event held on June 20th. MercyFirst staff were proud to welcome friends, board members, officials, and local community members with a tour of the beautifully designed spaces. The building was transformed with the creation of a warm and inviting reception area, addition of new offices and meeting rooms for staff, and wellness and visiting rooms for children and families. This renovation was made possible thanks to the support from Hyde and Watson Foundation and the Ira W. DeCamp Foundation. Thank you for celebrating with us! Congratulations to our talented youth and team from our Art and Creative Therapies Department for their beautiful display of artwork, "A Place That Brings Me Joy". Earlier this week MercyFirst welcomed youth, staff and friends to an opening reception at the Planting Fields Arboretum, Oyster Bay. This art exhibit will be on display through the end of April. Thank you to our partners for their generous support of our art reception- Whitsons Culinary Group for providing cheese and cracker platters and Central Business Systems for providing bottles of wine.

“MercyFirst is committed to the wellbeing of young adults transitioning out of foster care and Northwell Health’s Youth Healthcare Link pilot program is an excellent way to ensure they begin their journey into adulthood in good health,” said Renee Skolaski, MercyFirst President & CEO. “We are grateful to Northwell Health for helping young adults during an already challenging transition by providing access to quality care and helping them to navigate our complicated health care system, and we are honored to join ACS, the Center for Fair Futures and our peer agencies in bringing this important program to our youth across Queens.”
