    🪸 🌊 Did you know that Mars and its partners has successfully planted more than 1.3 million corals over the last 15 years? Scientists estimate that by 2050, 90% of the world’s coral reefs could be gone, so we have been working with our Chief Marine Science Officer and TIME 100 Climate List honoree, Professor David Smith, to develop and deploy a holistic approach to reef restoration focusing on relatively low-cost, scalable solutions. One of these solutions is the reef star, a hexagonal steel structure that is coated in sand, to which healthy coral fragments are attached. These loaded reef stars are deployed onto heavily degraded reefs, forming a stable platform that facilitates rapid coral growth. We’re seeing great progress with more than 90,000 reef stars being installed across the world so far. Results of these efforts are on full display at SHEBA HOPE Reef, off the coast of Indonesia, where coral cover has increased from 2% to 70% since restoration efforts began in 2019, and fish populations have grown by 260%. Mars has trained close to 200 coral reef builders and has 63 restoration sites across 12 markets. “As well as continuing to rebuild reefs in key regions, our goal is to provide communities around the world with training in core coral reef restoration techniques and the knowledge to enable them to choose the combination of methods that are best suited to their specific environmental conditions,” says David.     🌊🐟 At Mars, we’re diving into the future of sustainable pet nutrition, thanks in part to the mighty power of microalgae. In view of marine ecosystem challenges, we’ve taken an innovative approach led by Taoufiq Errafi, materials and ingredients manager Royal Canin. He and his team are substituting fish oil with microalgae. By taking steps to introduce this ingredient into some of our products, we can take further steps to preserve marine ecosystems and reduce our environmental impact. Taoufiq's work is a great example of how our Associates are taking action on climate change, directly contributing to our Net Zero Roadmap 2050. His innovative strategies have already saved a billion individual anchovies this year alone, showcasing our commitment to a healthier planet. Dla mnie największą wartością Mars są ludzie – otwarci, chętni do współpracy i zawsze wspierający. Ważną rolę odgrywa także manager, który dostrzega i docenia Twój potencjał. Mars oferuje wiele możliwości rozwoju, co można dostrzec w codziennej pracy dzięki szansom na rozwój w różnych obszarach. Moja pierwsza rola była kontraktorska w zespole ekspertów HR (SAP) i danych, gdzie pracowałam przy wdrożeniu nowego systemu HR (Workday). Kiedy pojawiła się możliwość dołączenia do działu audytu i zostanie Współpracowniczką, wiedziałam, że to krok, który chcę zrobić. Miałam wizję rozwoju w obszarze data quality, a firma zaufała mi i powierzyła stworzenie globalnego frameworku w tym zakresie. Projekt okazał się dużym sukcesem, spełniając potrzeby organizacji, a dla mnie był to kluczowy moment w rozwoju umiejętności przywódczych. Współpraca z dyrektorami działów rewards i payroll pozwoliła mi rozwinąć zdolności zarządzania stakeholderami i storytellingu, co wzmocniło moją pewność siebie i dojrzałość w zarządzaniu projektami. Docenienie mojego zaangażowania doprowadziło do awansu na stanowisko managera, gdzie obecnie zarządzam nowymi obszarami i projektami, co motywuje mnie do dalszego rozwoju. #proudlymars #marsglobalservices #mgspo #mgs     ----------------------------- Let me tell you my Mars story 🙂 I joined Mars nearly 5 years ago, and I am now on my third role within the company. The greatest value for me here in Mars is the people – open, collaborative, and always supportive. A key factor is also having a manager who sees and appreciates your potential. Mars offers numerous development opportunities, which can be felt in everyday work, providing chances for growth in various areas. In my first role, I was a contractor in a team of masterdata experts HR (SAP), working closely on the implementation of the new HR system, Workday. When the opportunity arose to join the audit team as an Associate, I knew it was the right step. I had a vision to develop the area of data quality, and the company trusted me to create a global data quality framework. The project was a great success, meeting organizational needs, and was a pivotal moment in developing my leadership skills. Collaborating with directors from rewards and payroll helped me grow in stakeholder management and storytelling, building my confidence and maturity in project management. The recognition of my contributions led to a promotion to manager role, where I now lead new areas and projects, continually motivated to keep growing.
