🌟 Meet Sarah Manson, 2024 EMERGE Participant 🌟 Sarah Manson, an early-career ocean scientist and a 2024 EMERGE Program participant, is committed to using marine technology for conservation and security. A graduate of the University of Victoria with a degree in Marine Biology, Sarah’s research on shark habitat use contributed to the designation of the Fuvahmulah Atoll as an Important Shark and Ray Area by the IUCN. Currently a Junior Marine Scientist at Open Ocean Robotics, Sarah operates Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs) for missions including marine mammal monitoring and illegal fishing detection.
