LCPS hosted a roundtable discussion on Thursday, Sept. 19, to discuss the development of a Recovery School. This school will provide a structured environment for students who are in early recovery from substance-use disorders. During the roundtable discussion, LCPS staff, School Board members, legislative leaders, and advocacy groups came together to learn more about the school and to discuss goals and solutions to support the school’s success. Through collaboration with the General Assembly, LCPS has secured the resources needed to begin the development of this life-changing educational model. LCPS will continue to work with local and state leaders and community partners to fully fund this school.
