About us
Founded in 2015, Lord Hobo is one of the fastest growing breweries in the United States. Our brewery and taproom are located in Woburn, MA, and we are in the process of expanding the taproom to include an outdoor patio, additional seating inside, and more food options. We are also expanding through the addition of satellite locations, starting with the opening of a large taproom and restaurant in Boston's Seaport district this year. At Lord Hobo, we strive to exceed expectations and provide consistently exceptional products, services, and experiences. We believe craft beer is the world's most affordable luxury item and we’re determined to prove the value of the beer we bring to your table. Like you, we celebrate life, work, loved ones, and experiences, and we are proud to be a small part in your own story. Working with us: Our employees are one of our key ingredients when it comes to our brand. We're always looking for passionate, talented, people to join our team. We’re beyond excited to announce that Lord Hobo Brewing and Lone Pine Brewing are joining forces to create a powerful new partnership in the craft brewing industry! First and foremost, we’re not evolving into some great corporate clone. By joining forces, we’re unlocking exciting new possibilities that neither of us could have achieved on our own. Together, we’ll have the power to offer even more innovative opportunities and take things to the next level. We’re still going to operate both the Gorham and Woburn breweries, along with all our retail locations from Seaport Boston to Anderson St. Portland. Our vision is to expand the accessibility of each brand, nurture their unique identities, and stay true to our roots, never blending into one soulless corporation. At the end of the day, it’s about honoring what matters most to our loyal fans who’ve supported us at every step. Your passion fuels our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and memorable experiences first, second and third. It does mean that we can strengthen Lone Pine distribution in Massachusetts (so you won’t have to drive to Maine just to find Lone Pine) and vice versa for Lord Hobo in Maine. Long-term we want to continue to partner with other like-minded independent breweries and distilleries to create a company that earns your respect and admiration every day no matter where you live. 🍻 What This Means for You: Brand Identity and Quality: Rest assured, both Lone Pine and Lord Hobo will maintain their unique identities, ensuring the quality of your favorite beers will not be compromised. Expanded Product Offerings: Get ready for exciting new products! The merger will lead to more innovation, including expanding beyond beer. Improved Availability and Distribution: We’re committed to enhancing our distribution, making it easier for you to find and enjoy our beers wherever you are. You’ll now even be able to get your favorite Lord Hobo beers directly from Lone Pine taprooms and your favorite Lone Pine beers at Lord Hobo locations. Enhanced Quality Through Shared Expertise: Bringing the breweries together allows us to share our brewing expertise, leading to innovative techniques and refined recipes that will elevate the quality of the craft beers you love. Thank you to everyone who made this possible and to all our loyal fans of both Lone Pine and Lord Hobo - it’s a great new chapter for us and we hope it will be an exciting one for everyone! And do please give us a shout if you want to know more or have any questions.

Today, as we prepare for the release of Good Jake, our collaboration with the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts (PFFM), we want to give a special shout-out to our Hobo staff member and firefighter, Charles Wynters! Charles has been part-time with Lord Hobo since 2021 and is also a dedicated member of a local fire department. Known as the "Glue Guy," he plays a crucial role in our production team. While he primarily works on our packaging team, he often steps in wherever his diverse skill set is needed. Outside of his shifts at the brewhouse, Charles is a devoted dad to his daughter and dog. You might also spot him at the gym, on the ice, or out on the golf course. While debates among our brewhouse golfers continue, he proudly claims the title of the best golfer on staff as the reigning Lord Hobo Open champion. In addition to his golfing talents, Charles is a former winner of our staff homebrew competition, celebrated for his popular Mudslide Stout. He’s especially excited about the upcoming release of Good Jake, which he helped brew and assures us is as crisp, light, and crushable as promised. So, if you catch him enjoying a shifty in the taproom, be sure to raise a pint of Good Jake in his honor. Cheers to Charles, and thank you for your service! #employeeappreciation #firefighter #employeeshoutout

We had a great time at our Lobster Bake last week. Twice a year we gather together to celebrate our team’s hard work. We were proud to continue our 'Hobo of The Year' tradition for the fourth year in a row. Our Hobo of The Year is nominated by fellow employees in our organization. They are someone who embodies what it really means to be a Hobo and who contributes to the overall success of our organization day in and day out. This is the highest honor we give as an organization and we couldn't be prouder of the recipient this year, Tom Donaghy. He received the award for his outstanding unwavering work ethic, dedication and attitude. He is embodiment of what it means to be a genuine Hobo. Congratulations, we are proud for you to represent the crown. We also recognized our newly minted one-year Hobo's with a personalized Carhartt vest. We were able to give out 11 vests. This vest not only means that they have contributed to the successes of Lord Hobo over the last year, but we intend for them to be a part of our success long term. We were also excited to celebrate two exceptional employees who have been with us for over 5 years! We wouldn't be where we are today if it wasn't for all of their dedication and contributions to our team. #employeeappreciation #lordhobobrewing #carharttvest #1year #5years #bostoncraftbeer

Today, we’d like to shine a spotlight on Graham Kelley, who was recently promoted to Cellar Lead! Graham first joined our packaging team four years ago, from the Isle Brewers Guild in Rhode Island. Since then, he’s advanced from the cellar to production, and now, he's leading our cellar team. Outside of the brewhouse, Graham loves a round of golf, working on his home brews, taking in some live music, and visiting some of his favorite local breweries. You can often find him and his wife in our Woburn taproom after work, enjoying a few pints and a pizza. His current go-to is the latest from our Pilsner Of The World series - We Can Do It! We’ve been thrilled to watch Graham’s growth within our team. His dedication and hard work have driven him to achieve his goals at Lord Hobo. The next time you catch Graham in the taproom for a shifty, be sure to raise a glass to him. Cheers to Graham! #promotion #employeeappreciation #employeespotlight

Today, we're giving a big shoutout to Alex Swensen on his promotion to Operations Manager! Alex joined Lord Hobo this last year and has already made a significant impact on our team. From grain to package, he’ll be ensuring that we continue delivering the highest quality beer. Before joining us, Alex began his career at Harpoon Brewery and went on to study at the World Brewing Academy’s Master Brewer program in Chicago, IL, and Gräfelfing, Germany. He’s also served as Head Brewer at Cambridge Brewing Company and managed the Quality Lab at Wachusett Brewing Company. Alex is both a Certified Cicerone and a Doemens Biersommelier. In his free time, you can often find Alex at Fenway Park, enjoying a few 617s as a season ticket holder. It will come as no surprise that 617 Hazy IPA is his go-to Hobo beer, but he loves the innovative special releases our team brews. Raise a glass to Alex (he's the one in the middle)! We’re lucky to have your dedication and expertise on our team. #employeeappreciation #promotion #employeehighlight

Today marks #nationalhomebrewday and we're thrilled to shine a spotlight on one of our team members at Lord Hobo, Michael Quinlan. Each year, we hold an internal homebrew competition where winners get the chance to brew their winning concoctions on our 10bbl system for release in our taprooms. This past year, Mike clinched the victory with his Kellerbier, set to debut at the end of this month. Mike has been an integral part of the Lord Hobo team for the past year, serving as a brewer/cellarman. From brewing to managing fermentation schedules, his dedication ensures the production of exceptional beer. His journey began nearly a decade ago, tinkering with homebrewing in his parents' garage. Fresh out of college, he dove into the brewing world at Ipswich Ale Brewing, climbing the ranks from the ground up to become a brewer. After, he played a pivotal role in launching Mighty Squirrel's first brick-and-mortar establishment, where his efforts earned them a prestigious gold medal at GABF during his five-year tenure. We're fortunate to have Mike on board at Lord Hobo, where he's spent over a year with us crafting and concocting delicious brews. His biggest achievement here has been the successful operation of our 1bbl system, churning out new and innovative beers exclusive to the taproom. When Mike isn't busy brewing up recipes at Lord Hobo, you'll likely find him at home, either homebrewing in his basement nano brewery or enjoying quality time with his wife and two Golden Retrievers, Winston and Maple. His personal favorite from LH's lineup is Boomsauce, so be sure to raise a pint and toast him next time you visit our Woburn taproom, and thank him for crushing it day in and day out! #employeeappreciation

We had a great time at our Holiday Party Monday! Twice a year we recognize our newly minted one-year Hobo’s with a personalized Carhartt vest. We were able to give out 8 vests, which means not only have they contributed to the successes of Lord Hobo over the past 365 days, but we intend for them to be a part of our success for the long haul. Additionally, we honored three exceptional employees who have been with us for over 5 years! We wouldn't be where we are today if it wasn't for their dedication and overall 'badassery'.
