REMINDER: We're holding three hybrid public hearings next week for members of the public to comment on the proposed changes to the MTA’s fares and ticketing policies. All public hearings will be held in person at 130 Livingston Street in Brooklyn and on Zoom at the following times: Tuesday, August 19, 6 p.m-9 p.m. EST Wednesday, August 20, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. EST Wednesday, August 20, 5 p.m.-8 p.m. EST If you can’t make it, we’re also meeting customers in the transit system and collecting public comments. In response to customer feedback and increased ridership, we’ve added two new seating areas at Grand Central Madison, located on the mezzanine level at 45th and 46th Street.

This past Saturday, the railroad safety teams participated in Summer Streets to chat with customers about railroad safety. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table! We'll be at Summer Streets for the final weekend this Saturday the 16th, from 7 AM to 3 PM. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Today, Governor Kathy Hochul announced that the engineering and design phase of the Interborough Express (IBX) has begun! This is a major step forward for the project, which will connect historically underserved communities in Brooklyn and Queens to the subway, bus, and Long Island Rail Road.

Heads up! We’re proposing major changes to our ticket policy and fares for next year: 🟩 No more ticket activation. One-way tickets will now auto-activate upon purchase. Both paper and mobile tickets will expire after four hours. 🟩 More flexible ticket options.
