Applicants approved by the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) may begin growing cannabis as soon as this fall, provided their businesses comply with local zoning ordinances and building codes. This first-round application window closes August 12, and there is no exact timeline for releasing approved licenses. No other cannabis-related retail operations may commence until OCM has adopted final rules, which are expected early in 2025. You’re invited! A new series of 24 traffic safety workshops is touring the state through spring 2025. The MnDOT State Aid Unit, in collaboration with the Office of Traffic Engineering (OTE), FHWA, and city and county engineering associations (CEAM and MCEA), have developed a refreshing in-person workshop that explores current and proposed traffic safety countermeasures. Individuals that will benefit most from the workshop include #MnCities, counties, MnDOT, and other transportation agency staff involved in traffic safety (specifically focusing on infrastructure strategies). The six-hour workshop will be held in a classroom setting with opportunities for questions, discussion, and activities throughout the day. Lunch will be provided.
