The ADAS & AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY EXPO, California 2024 has concluded, here are 3 cool observations: 👉 Mark Singer of eSync Alliance introduced me to the concept of standardized automotive #OTA updates. Very impressive and reminded me of the OTAs of a well established Sillicon Valley Carmaker (This is a compliment) 😎 👉 Ram Mirwani of my namesake friends of Rohde & Schwarz presented an end-to-end ADAS setup with all sensors that can be utilized throughout all levels from component to vehicle and supports the #shiftleft everyone is desiring these days 👉 #startup 🚀 shout out to Nimish Patil of Enviate presented an #AI based approach to link requirements to source code as well as to generate requirements from source code. There are tons of possibilities that emerge with that ability, from traceability proof to handling legacy code, and so much more, very curious where he will push the limits to 👏 (Photo credit to Nuro, great presentation 😃)

#ASPICE assessments for innovation projects vs. evolutionary projects: What are evolutionary projects? 👉 Next generation technologies 📈 👉 Cost down initiatives 🫰 👉 Efficiency or performance upgrades 🐎 💡ASPICE guidelines have been specifically designed for these cases and should be utilized What are innovation projects? 👉 1st ever product of a kind 🎁 👉 1st ever approach of a kind 🤖 👉 1st ever process of a kind 📋 Here your assessment will run into issues when strictly following the ASPICE guidelines 😱 Example: [AGE,RL.2] If evidence from project planning is missing that the remaining effort for features is not estimated which are to be delivered in future releases then MAN.3 BP.5 shall be downrated. ✋ An innovation project will take turns and will be highly mutable, it is literally not feasible to calculate the remaining effort until the final design is defined. BUT: ASPICE allows tailoring as long as it is well-documented and explained! 💪 Conclusion: Good assessors don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to ASPICE assessments, they know when to tailor and to be flexible (which is completely in conformance with ASPICE 😉)!
